Bobby Darin's exceptionally high IQ was higher than that of Einstein.... Bobby has a very sharp wit, very charismatic and sexy too.... Loved watching this again, thanks for post.
The original "Password" was not a 'dumb show,' nor lowest common denominator programming. As an elementary school student, I found the show highly entertaining, and learned much vocabulary, plus quick critical thinking, in the process.
It was an excellent show watching this video( excellent video) & very surprised it has not been brought back, actually! It definitely was an intelligent game show, expanding your vocabulary! Loved watching this! UTube is the best, bringing us exceptional programs, people, movies & music that would be list forever. If not for this amazing site/blog!❤️
Mom was somewhat of a high strung person. I was in my early teens in the 60s. She loved Password and Alan Luden. When she plopped down in her easy chair and turned on Password, I knew she would soon be in a good mood the rest of the day. Alan served as my barometer. Today I enjoy Password reruns and find pleasure in allowing these celebrity guests into my living room.
He was! So sad he died so young. He & Sandra Dee made such a adorable looking couple too. Bobby is just so handsome though, you are so right & witty( funny)!
@@agataf1320 Yes, I know and I'm not disputing that he had a high IQ at all. The man was brilliant! What I posted was that one can't conclude he has any higher IQ from the other contestants just by watching the show. Because he participates no differently than the other contestants, For all I know, some of them may have just as high an IQ. But we already know Bobby has a high IQ. You yourself show that by referencing his high numbers which are already publicly known obviously. That was the point I was trying to make to the original post.

I so loved Bobby Darin( my mom adored him & had all the movie magazines on both him& Sandra). I was a little girl but remember how handsome I thought he was. I remember the name Rosemary Clooney but unfortunately being so young, I don’t remember anything about her but I know she was a big star back then. Rosemary Clooney had divorced José Ferrer in 1961 and would re-marry him in 1964. Ferrer directed Bobby Darin in the 1962 movie State Fair. Blessings from San Juan PR !!!
He seems politely attentive to me. The secretary seemed quite distracted by Bobby's charms when he was providing clues, she wasn't responsive at all. Starstruck.
I thought he was very composed & thoughtful, to tell you the truth, not distracted at all. After all Bobby Darin has been with some pretty big name stars ⭐️ in Hollywood, later on married Sandra Dee so I don’t believe, as sweet as the stewardess & other women were, it took any of his attention or concentration away 😂ha! but “that’s just me!” Now, on the other hand...”I BELIEVE THE SECRETARY WAS DUMBSTRUCK HA! & OTHER CONTESTANTS WERE AWESTRUCK HAVING BOBBY DARIN FOR THEIR PARTNER. I mean, who can blame them??? lol! 😆I know I sure would be,having BOBBY sitting only a mere few inches from me!😂The secretary seemed awestruck & kind of staring blankly at times. She probably couldn’t believe her good fortune, getting BOBBY DARIN AS HER PARTNER! I would be sitting there amazed at my good fortune too! Good question. I've not seen any film of them, but they'd have done well together, for sure. I'm also wondering, did Bobby ever get to duet with Bing??
English is not my mother tongue, so I cannot tell: does Bobby have any speech defect or idiosyncrasy that makes him difficult to understand? Or is it the girl who cannot hear very well?
Thanks, Catherine. Even though the US are so huge, and so many different accents exist there, I didn't think Mr. Darin had a thick accent. I can understand him pretty well (but I DID understand 'stream' the second time he said it).
Bobby did have some unclear pronounciations, outside of the Bronx. He indicated here (twice), that the "d" on the end of "closed" was difficult for him to make heard. I notice in live performances that he "lithpths" (lisps) sometimes on words that end in s, as well. I had the same problem as a kid, and always hear it in others. When he performs, if you watch/listen carefully, you can tell he's working very consciously at annunciating.
Thanks a lot for explaining that! I'll pay attention to that lisp of his (though my ear is not good, now that I know what to look for I may notice it). Do you think that "d" on "closed" is a problem of his, or is it just the Bronx accent? I've often read that Bobby spoke (sang) very clearly, and it's probably because, as you say, he was trying very consciously to do so. I'm somewhat mystified at the almost violent way in which he pronounces his p's (something I notice more on watching him singing than on hearing him). I don't know whether he did this all his life, since all instances I seem to remember are from the seventies, but if you look up him singing "Simple Song of Freedom" you'll see what I mean ("we the PeoPle here don't want a war").
I haven't seen too many episodes, but it seems like it's always the male guest star (not the female guest star) who says, "We're all here to say 'Password.'"
This was the best 24 minutes of my life. Bobby Darin and Rosmary clooney😍
Bobby's reaction at being called cute was actually adorable

Einstein's IQ actually wasn't that off-the-wall high. I think I read it was 160 or 165. Certainly genius level, but not 175+ like one might expect.
And he had a heart problem all his life from his early youth and knew he could die at any time.
It is a fabulous video & site! So loved this!❤️
Thanks, James Power. This is a treat! Never enough BD, and any chance to return to the MUCH BETTER CENTURY.
