Colin sucked for most of the season. Not because of the actor (Luke Newton is great!), but because of the writing and directing. There were _some_ good moments, but not enough. Showing Colin having three ways with prostitutes didn't show emptiness, it just made him seem like a vapid f'boy who was unworthy of Penelope. Also, Colin NEVER had to do anything, not even once, to earn Penelope's love or forgiveness. He ruins her proposal from Lord Debling, chases after her, and then freaks her in the carriage, ending with, "Are you going to marry me or not?" Eloise and Penelope had a more compelling story than Penelope and Colin. And don't get me started on them 💩ing on Francesca and John's LOVE from the book!!!! That long?? I really hate when shows do that. In my opinion ur hurts the show. Why? Well in all that time we will find new shows to watch & little by little forget about Bridgerton. When the S3 premiere dates were announced, I put myself in "Bridgerton Boot Camp" and rewatched S1, S2, & Queen Charlotte in the weeks leading up to S3, Ep 1. Doing this reminded me of why I loved Bridgerton and readied me to once again get lost in all the characters and shenanigans of Bridgerworld. Maybe you can re-ignite that excitement in the same way once the S4 premiere is announced. See you in 2 years! :)😃

I’m not sure why people feel this way about S3. They literally fixed all the issues from the books. Made Colin a sweetie who isn’t a walking red flag. Actually gave Penelope agency in her own story and actually giving her the climactic reveal moment instead of giving it to Collin (honest what the heck was Quinn thinking when she wrote that scene 😭). Didn’t make Penelope lose weight to be “prettier” 🙃 Like I’m getting the sense most of you who didn’t like S3 never read the books and have no idea how much of an improvement the show adaptation was.

His whole journey is about self discovery from what I've understood so far. So that's probably why he has been all over the place, I hope his season develops on that idea. Also, his love intrest in the books is described as knowing who she is and what she wants, so that's going to be an interesting dynamic.

I hope they will. Book Benedict was a horrible and very unlikeable character, a real d***. Sophie was great though. But I'm pretty sure they will change stuff, which is fine to me. A book adaptation has always room for creative changes, that's why it's called: "adaptation | American Dictionary: something produced to adjust to different conditions or uses, or to meet different situations." It can NEVER be exactly like the original, because it is a different medium. There should be lots of space for them to make changes. I would love them to not include this stupid SA trope that is in the book where Sophie needs to be rescued from a man by some man. That's way too cliche and would not really suit today's Zeitgeist.

I hope they will. Book Benedict was a horrible and very unlikeable character, a real d***. Sophie was great though. But I'm pretty sure they will change stuff, which is fine to me. A book adaptation has always room for creative changes, that's why it's called: "adaptation | American Dictionary: something produced to adjust to different conditions or uses, or to meet different situations." It can NEVER be exactly like the original, because it is a different medium. There should be lots of space for them to make changes. I would love them to not include this stupid SA trope that is in the book where Sophie needs to be rescued from a man by some man. That's way too cliche and would not really suit today's Zeitgeist.

@@nellsmc8977no, I think the writers got a lot of push back from the book readers about Francesca‘s partner being switched and if they do it to Sophie a lot of people won’t be watching. It’s not because of homophobia or anything, a lot of people love Benedict’s story with Sophie and don’t want it to be switched just for quotas and inauthenticity.

The only thing I'm wondering is how they're going to play it out. It's been said that he's going to continue to explore his sexuality. So he either has a Montage before he meets Sophie or it turns into a open relationship which for me personally is the end for me.
