Same reason Palps was pissed after Vader Vs Kenobi on Mustafar he didn't want his prized student damaged
Also for grievous to not be killed too soon.
I agree
Palp heavily underestimated Kenobi 😂
@@East_Coast_Toasty_Boy Grevious very much could beat Anakin
My explanation
Grevious was agresive warrior
Anakin was also agresive
Every Fight Grevious vs Kenobi Grevious is wining until Force comes into play then he runs cause u cant deflect the force
He is extremly fast and learns super fast even Windu got scared when Grevious studied his fighting style while fighting him so he ran
He also beat Asaj Ventres and The bounty hunter withnot lightsaber wich is why he was General
Depends honestly
Could go either way
Depends if writers acept 2003 grevious cause if they do he wins No diff
Outspeeds force
Could kick him like he kicked the jedi
@@Stranger-gl6ie Anakin is ridiculously aggressive to the point he wouldn't let Grievous escape. Obi-Wan used the force to NOT kiII, Anakin would try to kiII him. Just look at what Windu did to 2003 Grievous. Anakin wins imo.
Can you imagine ahsoka explaining grevious to Anakin??? "Master i met this robot with a really creepy laugh, he was HUGE"
... When Anakin finally met grevious, he really was shorter than expected
Underrated comment
I saw that meme
Anakin: Cocky.
Grievous: Cocky.
It would be bloody fight.💀
Grevious knew the entire plan!
"You must realize, you are doomed!"
Nah, he had no clue that palps was sidious. He said it in that moment because he knew that obi wan wouldnt come alone and tried to scare him by telling him that he was prepared for the clone attack. Remember 2003 grievous? When he trained with dooku it was made clear that he was only such a killing machine because he always managed to keep his enemies in a state of panic. This made it less likely that they would use their force powers on him. It failed with mace, which is why he has his iconic cough, and it failed with obi wan, which is why he lost his lightsabers on utapau.
@@miniaturejayhawk8702 👍 man, what you said is true. I was wondering, when Grevious attacked Coruscant and took Palpatine hostage, the Female Jedi Master who got killed a couple of times but escaped O66 and Starkiller in "the Force Unleashed", killed her too.....I forgot her name? Any way, when (Anakin) rescued Palpatine and Obi Wan from Tyranus. They were recaptured and brought to the bridge. Grevious and the Jedi exchanged jabs at each other and Grevious said "we have been expecting you" then the camera shot went straight to Palpatine looking right at Grevious. You are right, the Jedi Grevious killed feared feared him.
@@rickeyb8812Jedi Master Shaak Ti
@lanceleader163 thanks dude, I forgot her name all the times she was killed. 😂😂😂
Tldr: They both were important and were kept apart to ensure they both survived
The new Disney doesn’t pay this much attention to detail. Cough *Qui gon gin in Kenobi series*
There’s a new canon no lol this isn’t the same as legends
That was fine everyone expected qui gon to be in the kenobi series. As for in universe only those with a deep DEEP connection to the force can see those with limited training with the force priestess
There are still inconsistencies with the continuity in the prequel era, like episode 3 had dialogue between Anakin and Obi-Wan against Count Dooku that made it seem like that fight was their rematch since episode 2. For example, Obi-Wan says, “This time we will do it together.” And Anakin responds with, “I was about to say that.” But in The Clone Wars show, we see them fighting Dooku together before that moment.
And Obi Wan and Grievous also never met.
That's why I don't accept the extra duels. Too many inconsistencies and it also ruins the importance of the film duels.
@@factfiend1000 Damn right. They seem to be meeting with Dooku and Grievous every other week
@@bouncin2207 Just like that extra duel between Obi Wan and Vader. Totally unnecessary and invalidates the significance of the film duels. Imagine if Luke and Vader dueled between ESB and ROTJ. It would ruin those two duels, no question.
Actually it still works. Everytime they’ve fought Dooku, they’ve never been in sync. Literally the first time Anakin just rushes in and loses a hand. And I think their last fight Dooku was putting Anakin on the defensive, while Obi-Wan was on the offensive, using their weakness’s against each other. So the line makes sense… from a certain point of view. Which fits for Star Wars, considering even in their last fight, they STILL weren’t in sync. Dooku was always pushing Obi-Wan away.
General Grievous your shorter than I expected ;)
I never even realized they never met & now I’m like how tf did I never notice that. That’s how good it was written
Feels like they would have met by total accident doesn’t it
Another possible reason: Grievous was trained to never go against a Jedi without the elements of fear and surprise. That if any Jedi stops fearing him, he loses all advantages he has.
As (arguably) the Jedi with the least fear in combat, Anakin would be the first for him to run from.
anakin has a habit of charging enemys and getting his ass kicked and grevous wouldve exploited that
Anakin would lose to grevious all the way up until episode 3
The “out of universe” reasoning is basically Dave and George had to do clone wars Olympics to keep them separated.
And then Palpatine and to do the same clone wars Olympics to keep them separated as well 😂
Wait I could’ve sworn that they actually did interact in the clone wars and that was a plot hole.
Closest they ever came to interacting was when they were being exchanged as prisoners after Grievous was captured by the Gungans and Anakin was captured by Dooku. They were in the same location, but didn’t actually see each other or meet.
@@ADHD1 why they didn't just pretend to prisoner exchange with them once they had Anakin back attack the droids and as grievous was still in shackles (anakin reached his lines first he could force pull grievous back and thus gets freed while taking the evil droid general. Its not the first time the Republic would have committed perfidy. Anakin was constantly committing this act. This way anakin gets to have his cake and eat grievouses too.
@@ADHD1 no, the closest interaction that they had was in season 1 at the battle of bothawui. They litterally engaged in a starfighter pursuit. I dont know how much closer you want to get than that without them actually meeting in person.
@@ADHD1they met when grievous was chained by naboo gungans and the separatists released anakin who was in coma to them and they released grievous to the separatists and grievous should've seen anakin when they released him to the gungans
Also in the episode where grievous captured r2 no? Or was it just snips that fought him?
I can't hear "he groomed anikan" while looking at palpatines face and not laugh
It’s debatable who would win… Grievous got the upper hand on Obiwan several times. And Kenobi was the best suited to fight Grievous. Anakin would probably just just ahead of himself and fall for a trap or ambush against Grievous.
At this point in his life Anakin was still little more than a teenager, bearly in his early 20's. As the chosen one he was already a match for pretty much any Jedi master save Yoda and possibly Mace Windu but those Jedi had reached their peaks and Anakin was still getting stronger.
If Anakin and Grievous fight at this time I do believe Grievous had a good chance of winning unless Anakin leaned heavily on the Force or even called on the Dark side. In other words, I believe Anakin is more powerful but Grievous is technically superior with a lightsaber and his extremely offensive, complex attacks would overwhelm Anakin's defenses (which were nowhere near as proficient or patient as Kenobi's).
However, if this fight took place later in Anakin's life after he had matured and reached his potential in the Force, becoming even more powerful than Sidious, then Grievous would be like stepping on an empty beer can for Anakin.
Actually kit fisto was technically the best suited to fight grievous.
@@AP0PT0SISFisto would literally disagree with you. The council decided that Obi Wan goes to Utapau.
@@177SCmaroNot against 2003 Grievous
Slimy Sheevy also didn't want Anakin to meet Grievous lest he make the connection that Palps wanted to use him as the Republic's Grievous.
Boggy man . ? Well, he's you you send when you want to kill the f Boggy man . Obi wan kenobi a man of purpose and sheer will . . 😆
If anakin and grievous ever met and dueled anakin would literally overpower him and basically cut off all the arms and force pushes him and throw him up and down and stab him
Unless it was the 2003 Grevious, which I could really see why Palps feared them ever meeting.
Grievous would have killed Anakin during the first two years of the clone wars, but in the final year is when Anakin really gets strong and wipes the floor with Grievous
"This time we'll attack him together."
"My powers have doubled since the last time we met Count"
They probably forgot about this one 😅😂
At least not whilst they was both conscious If you’ve watched that specific episode of the clone wars
Even tho having the chancellor not kidnapped and general grievous coughing messes with continuity anyway because revenge of the sith had the mini series in mind in that series general grievous was a bad ass
Probably Anakin would kill grevious and the clone wars would end fairly quickly and sidious had much more plans so he didn't want to take the odds. Anakin with his dark side rage would just crush him just like mace windu did in 2003.
Yeah lmao. Imagine grievous but even more crippled. 🤦♂️😂
Meanwhile the writers of the acolyte break continuity like a stick of pretz only 3 episodes in.
I wish this should’ve happened because it’s nothing but a running gag where they’re not meant to facing each other despite they’re both popular. Grievous has been always an evil counterpart version of Anakin Skywalker.
disney would never bother to keep that detail up
Yet Anakin and Dooku meet each other every damn week, despite ROTS making it clear their final meeting was only the second time. Writers didn't had any intent to follow continuity, why do you think Anakin was give padawan that was never ever mentioned in the movies?
Don’t forget that Anakin and Maul never met before as well
I love that the writers really took the piss with this scene and decided to not have anakin and grievous meet, even though this is a simple line that could have been easily ignored and retconed and nobody would care. Wait I forgot this is star wars people would throw a massive tantrum if this was changed, doesn't matter
That’s also the same reason Anakin never met Darth Maul
I honestly think the other clone wars version of grievous can beat (non dark side)Anakin at their first encounter but after that if Anakin lives he will have some counter measures ready.
Its also the symbolic reason that just Vader the cyborg wouldnt be defeated by Anakin, Grievus might not be either.
But Clone Wars forgot the Dialoge between Dooku and Anakin
"My Power has doubled since the Last Time we met"
The Last Time they Met is Not Long ago according to Clone Wars
In S2EP9 (min 3:44) Anakin sees grievous by an hologram and it seems that they see each other. Wouldnt that count?
No, because that was just a message, not a live transmission, much like how Maul sends one to the Jedi demanding that Obi-Wan come to face him in S4 episode 22
Grievous is good enough that, in a fight between them, anakin or grievous could both feasibly win
I think if they fought Grievous would have killed Anakin only because of their deuling skills and experience
General Grievous is Anakin's Father!
😅
In short: groomers gotta groom
It's a funny joke to say clone wars cares about continuity. "I've been trained In your jedi arts by count dooku" bit of an odd thing to say to someone you've been fighting every other Tuesday for the last 3 years. That line pretty much confirms obi-wan and grevious had never faught each other before but clone wars cares not for the cannon.
There is no Probably... Anakin would have killed General Grevious.
No, Grievous would've killed Anakin as even Mace Windu admitted he couldn't beat him and could've learned an imitation of Vapaad. Anakin could possibly win if he used the Force from the get-go which isn't his MO nor in his character to do so.
Then they made obi won vs Vader in the new show 😂😢
You really had to say palatine groomed anakin
I mean… he 100% did tho
@@ethangilbert4896 “old politician grooms young boy while taking power of the senate” that’s a headline
Since when was The Clone Wars concerned about continuity?
🎬⚔️
So just... explaining one of the most commonly known facts in Star Wars with a little lie at the end.
If Anakin did fight grievous it would be a forgone conclusion
Anakin would win
Legend grevious would prob beat tcw anakin extreme diff
ROTS dialogue makes it clear that Obi-Wan never met Grievous either. The most blatant being:
"General Kenobi, you are a bold one."
And
"You fool, I've been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku."
If Palpatine was worried about Grievous dying, he would have tried to make Grievous avoid all the Council members. The simple fact is the war lasted a couple of years, and it's an entire galaxy. The chances of them confronting each other are minuscule. Them just being on the same battlefield is already a crazy coincidence. In Legends, it was established that there were 500 fronts at any given time. That is a 0.5% chance of being part of the same battle, let alone meeting for a duel. I don't know how many fronts there were in the new canon at a time, but it's unlikely to be better odds than 0.5%
I seriously doubt that anakin could defeat grievous. He was not a very good lightsaber duelest who lost several times to much lesser dark side users and his impatience was a hindrance which nearly got himself killed several times. Obi wan was the best person due to his patience which his strictly defensive leaning style mandated. Obi wan waited for a perfect opportunity to present itself. He could defeat grievous but anakin would get killed super fast as he would impulsively attack without thinking and would not be able to withstand the psycpathic cyborg genocidal maniac an droid general of the CIS General Grievous.
Your very wrong about that. Anakin was considered one of the best duelists in the order during the clone wars so much so that it was believed that he surpassed both Mace and Obi Wan
@@notthefbi7015 This. Anakin had flaws, but he was on track to be the best dualist in the whole order.
@@notthefbi7015 i seriously doubt that. Anakin only survived as long as he did due to plot armor. Much like harry potter he was little better than average jedi. He was impulsive in a way that he nearly died on SO many times. Seriously the guy was the epitome of a mary jane, daphne, or insert name of damsel in distress here character due to his recklessness nearly getting himself killed on so many missions. His arrogance blinded him. Plus spoiler alert he should have destroyed obi wan so easily when they met in the kenobi series. The first meeting obi wan fled like a b@$#% and even with the ISB agent betraying the Empire to help him the fact that he could hold a starship in his grasp should have meant that obi wan would not escape. Plus there was no time for training and the second time they dueled obi wan nearly killed Vader. He just failed to "finish him"
That’s why Palpatine actually did keep them apart. He didn’t know if Anakin would win that fight.
@@anuksunamun101 he effortlessly best cin dralig who was considered one of the best swordsmen in the order and oversaw the training at the temple
No I'm sorry early and mid war anakin get claped
Also Obi-wan and Grievous never met, but they let THAT happen. 😑😑😑😑
That is not stated in the movie. So no, they met before Ep. III as is shown in the Clone Wars and there is no retcon/plot hole.
@@TheThonimaan The Clone Wars was made after Ep. III Do you not remember??? So yes, that is a retcon that contradicts the movie.
So Anakin deserved to fight Grievous.
