Haven’t watched you in a while, but glad to see you doing what you do best. Exploring the remote towns and tracks. You do such a good job of videos, I feel like I’m there with you. Thank you.
Planning on doing the Goog's Track March 2025. Funny, i grew up in Ceduna but never did the track. The Dentons of this family knew my parents and their kids were at school with my older brothers and sisters, now since passed. Been to Mt Augustus & Kennedy Ranges too, and many more remote places on very rough & remote roads eg: Anne Beadell, Connie Sue, Gary Junction Track, CSR, Gibb River Road, Cape York etc. I have found that many of the outback roads/tracks are as you found Goog's Track.... repetitive, boring, same thing etc. But, rather than the destination when u r travelling outback, it's the journey, the scenery and the aloneness that i covet. And the fact that you did it on your own. It is essential to make sure that u carry a sat phone and multiple fair sized fire extinguishers as well. Love the cooking in the travel oven... got one of those in the JK Wrangler and save a whole lot of work at the end of a long day.
Looks great will be heading to Ceduna from Adelaide in a couple of days before heading up the Googs track with my Prado 150 towing a pod camper am looking forward to it might even be lucky enough to snag one of your stickers from the box
Hi Jack, just watched your trip along Goog's Track, thanks for sharing the trip. I did the track back in early 2000s and really enjoyed the 3 days we took. Went to Mt Fink and climbed to the cairn. It seamed nothing had changed since John Mc Donald Stuart climbed it 7th August 1858. I did get attacked by a Wedge Tail Eagle on the way down, obviously had a nest nearby. Not many places you can go that are so unchanged. Thanks for the memories and cheers. (Where is Sorcha?)
