The actual use of having two separate whistles is that the hooter was used when the locomotive pulled freight, and the 6 chime was used for when the locomotive pulled passengers. Though, during the rambles, you’ll often see that they both get used. Not much a reason behind that other than just for the hell of it.

I was wondering who was the gentlemen with the nice camera set up. Great job!
Is anyone able to fill me in as to why the crew uses two different whistles? Is it just whichever one they feel like using or is there a purpose?

I first rode behind 2102 in 1976, it was set up for two whistles back then. I like the Rdg Banshee freight whistle over the Rdg passenger whistle.
@@Silvertone_Spiral that’s actually super helpful, thank you!! I was thinking that was the case so I appreciate your answer
WELCOME BACK, OLD CLASSIC GIANT STEAM LOCOMOTIVE FRIEND ! WELCOME BACK ! !
Simply outstanding! By the way, what tripod do you use? The panning and tilting are remarkably smooth!
As An "AUTISTIC" Person, I "WOULD" Like To Say That I Really Really "LOVE" Steam Locomotives/Steam Trains The Most
First for the first time!
They've done a wonderful job on 2102.
We spent a lot of weekends riding and chasing her many years ago, great to see this.
Great video & chase Connecticut Rail Films
great vid!
Great video! My wife and I were onboard and enjoyed the ride. Your video adds such a different perspective to the trip. Thanks!
The nicest thing in steam this year for sure! Love the T-1s.
A 100 year old is back 🖤🖤💛
A little too artistic for a train video. just stick with the train.
Ignore this guy. The video is very well done and it’s obvious you put a lot of time and effort into both production and post production.
