Why does only one trapeze with the spinnaker?
They are going pretty much straight downwind so don't need both out.
But can both go out if needed? I am just a bit confused as sometimes the crew trapezes and sometimes the helm, but I have never seen both at the same time
@@Hello_alll I haven't sailed that class so Joe will have to answer that one but I am pretty sure that both can trapeze. In the pictures you saw when going directly downwind in a strong breeze then you want the weight back as far as possible but don't need both out. The skipper can see better from that position as well I found when racing. As soon as they came up on the wind, the crew would have had to trapeze as well or capsize.
This will be one that is answered in this week's Q+A
