i just found out about this man, hes one of my new favorite players. unbelievable rollercoaster of a life story this man had, but deep down he just seemed like he wanted to live happily
It may not be obvious by watching him but as a pitcher he was extremely reliable. After a couple of years of failed projects like Jay Tibbs, Floyd Youmans, Bob Sebra, Neal Heaton, etc, it was refreshing to see someone who was reliable out there! Dennis Martinez was also reliable starting in 1987. It was a novelty. By the way, Perez there had the best strikeout to walk ratio in 1989... that is quality. He only had really one awful year in 1985 when his arm did not work correctly. This person delivered.
The Expos put surnames on the backs of their team jackets, with the exception of Perez's -- his read "I-285," the Atlanta highway on which he once got "stranded" on his way to the park. Playing for the Braves at the time, he missed his exit and needed about 45 minutes to figure out an alternate route. Nothing dull about Pascual.
I remember one time Pasqual hit a double. The next batter came up and walked, so Pasqual walked to third base. The referees ran over and said "No no no you can't do that." Got to give the man credit for trying. We always got excited when he was scheduled to pitch.
An electric personality to go along with some electric pitches...RIP Pascual

Los equipos no tuvieran dinero para pagar a Cutá, si hubiese jugado en esta época. Claro. Sin los problemas de adicciones que tuvo. RIP.
Who was that first Met he struck out?
Alomar
I had an expo's hat and white jersey....what was I thinking to let those get away from me???
Je ne comprend pas pourquoi l'arbitre n'a pas appelé un ''balk'' à 1:57min .
À voir la motion de Pascual, n'y a personne sur les sentiers. Voilà.
