Ive been playing about 4 months. Glad I found your channel. Im guilty of crowbarring in 5ths below, or 5th and Oct above, where there probably should be space. Im going to fight my urge to be Jamerson and leave some space to ring though. Thanks
Excellent video, great presentation of some basic yet crucially important aspects of playing slap. I love the way you practically contextualised everything you said, adding credence to your points.
So glad I subscribed to your channel. I’ve been out of playing seriously for 4 years and out of it altogether for 2. I’ve just rediscovered my passion for it again and will be binging on your videos as I rebuild my skills through practice
My dude !! You consistently drop fire on the internet. Thanks for loading the grooving backing track on The Tube . God keeps blessing you with fresh ideas.
There's just one name for it...the one it was given by it's founder...Larry Graham Jr. It's called "Thumping and Plucking". He still calls it that ..to this day... shouldn't we??
Unfortunately in gospel music /(black church music) .... You learn the more you riff throughout a song, the more you're " killing" . But in truth you won't get a call to or at least a call back for better paying gigs. And that's a fact!!
Great one...🔥
The groove is EVERYTHING!!! Slapping is irrelevant, unless you can GROOVE!!!🙂✌🏽❤️🎶

Great video and I agree with the adage of "less is more" where you don't want to be too busy at the expense of the groove. Really well presented!
And depending on who you're playing for or with. Pocket!!! And yes sir... Less is absolutely more!!!
I love the wisdom you are always passing on bro!!!! Keep up the great work sir.

How do you mute the B string?
When slapping, I mean
@@TheBartostock I generally let my left hand float over the strings. Most of the time it's my middle finger. It all depends on what I'm playing.
