No 720p/120fps? I've seen it listed on several websites. Slow motion will be very smooth at 120fps.

Hello Tel Aviv, When I got this camera (about a year ago) it only had native 1080p, 2.7 and 4K resolution settings. Since then there may have been a software (firmware) update that allows for 720p resolution. Try checking the EKEN website for updates.

Hi great review. How is the performance of the battery?(Let´s say recording at 1080-30fps). How long can you use it that condition before to charge again the battery?Thanks
I did not actually 'time' the battery run time, but I tend to get just over 1 hour of usage shooting various amounts of video/pics/time lapse. I always take a couple of extra batteries or at least have a 'battery bank charger' handy so I can recharge when I am out on a camping trip.

The sound isn't the greatest when the camera is inside the waterproof housing. It kind of gives it that muffled sound just like a GoPro camera, however there is an optional 'back door' with two open slots that allows you to record much better sound, but it leaves the camera vulnerable to the elements. When the camera is used without the housing the sound is quite good when recorded at a close distance. Unfortunately this camera does not have a microphone input jack so you cannot use an external microphone.

Hello Brian. That particular model (EKEN H3R) is available online from places like Amazon.com, Amazon.ca ,Aliexpress.com and Gearbest.com. Here in Canada, the retail store, Canada Computers sells several EKEN models(but not the one tested). The model they carry with the closest specs would be the H9, or the H9S, $100-$150 Cdn.

The easiest way is to remove the micro SD card from the camera and insert it into a card reader slot on a computer. A small window will appear on your computer asking if you want to view the files from the memory card. You should then see two folders, one for photos and one for videos. You can then view/save/copy/edit etc. the photos/videos from those folders. Another method is to leave the micro SD card in the camera, and plug the camera into the computer using the USB cable(the same cable you use to charge the battery). You will then get the same small window on your computer screen as explained above. Hope that helps.
Hello, I just bought the camera and received it today. The camera is working fine and all but the remote doesn't seems to work. I have swapped it with a new battery and it does nothing.
Do I need to pair it? because on the manual itself doesn't say anything about it and to my logic it supposed to work out of the box without needing to configure anything besides the phone application. I have searched around the internet for a solution but nothing comes out. Do yours work just fine out of the box?.
I've had three different EKEN cameras and all came with remotes. All the remotes have worked fine...right out of the box...nothing to set up, nothing to configure. Perhaps your remote has a dead battery in it?
TheOneCanoe I have contacted my reseller and they made a mistake by sending me a wrong camera, they send me a H3 rather than a H3R which explains why the remote did not work.
Where did you find the updated firmware for the H3 to download and/or install? Or would the cameras come with the updated firmware already installed?

The company stresses you must follow all instructions in order to complete the upgrade without problems. I'm assuming all new cameras shipped from the factory would include the latest firmware, however if you receive "older stock" from a retailer you would have to do the update yourself. -Wayne

No, there is no setting on this camera to change the F.O.V. I don't even think this camera is still in production.
@@TheOneCanoe I was testing and finding out and yes it was possible to reduce the Fov but from the app on the cell phone. It has a zoom that emulates the wide-angle effect.
Good point to check the phone app. I too, have found functions available on phone apps from various camera companies that are not available on the actual camera menu. Always a good idea to check that out!
With eken h9 better where its the result?
Hello Dimas Aji, Thanks for watching my review. This camera is no longer in production, but I have still seen it for sale on a few websites. As far as I can tell it shares the same specifications as the EKEN H9R,(so the video quality results should be similar) which is a newer camera and is still in production. The H9R, unlike the H3R does not have the display on the front of the camera. I have not actually tested the H9R, so I am just speculating.

Which is better H3R or H9?
Hi Lina, As far as I know the H3R and the H9 both have the same specifications....same sensor, same frame rates, same still image settings and both include a remote. The main difference is that the H3R has a front LCD information screen as well as the rear 2 inch view screen....whereas the H9 only has the rear 2 inch view screen.
is this camera capable of external audio
No, there is no external 'microphone-in' jack on this camera.

Hey Farley, No the USB jack is only for charging and downloading. It is not 'wired' for audio input.
Can handle SD 64gb?
I have never tried a 64GB card in it. The instruction booklet says it will accept 16Gb or 32GB micro SD, micro SDHC or micro SHXC cards. Class 10 speed rating is recommended.

which is better H3R or H8R ???
Hello Nikola, You asked "Which is better H3R or H8R?" My understanding is, these cameras are almost identical, but the H8R will record 4K video at a frame rate of 30fps(which the H3R will not do). I have not actually used the H8R, (yet) so cannot confirm the quality, but according to the specifications it's pretty much identica to H3Rl.
