I take all this with a grain of salt. Peter D’Adamo’s book ‘Eat Right for Your Type’ isn’t widely supported by scientific evidence.

@@SageOfEchoes I totally get it. Same with some of the other topics, like the Flow Rope, backwards walking, MAF training etc. Even if it’s not widely supported by scientific evidence, I still find it worth exploring.

      @@FlorisGiermanno. These are not equivalent!
Eating for blood type has no basis in physiological mechanisms nor evidence. It’s pseudoscience.
While varying training methods and MAF training absolutely do have mechanistic bases and evidence.
There have always been snake oil salespeople and the absolute worst are people from within the healthcare industry who throw out words that seem to be convincing to not scientific educated people but are absolutely non sensical.
And the more they see uneducated people listening to them, the more attention they get, the further off the rails they go.
This is not a new phenomenon. That’s why there’s a name for them!

I had never heard of blood types impacting nutrition and thereby body performance. Wow, I have much to learn!
    Thanks for the interview

Nice episode, thanks Floris! My favorite lesson from this video is "Ultimately pain is intended to elicit change, so learn from your pain, take advantage of what that pain is trying to tell us." -> this really resonated with my as I'm currently dealing with constant shin splints!

Interesting episode Floris, love the unconventional take on training, health and blood type. I’ll explore this further too. I’m intrigued to learn more about the foods that I should avoid with the blood type diet, and see if there’s any positive benefits.

I don’t think shin splits are just a sign of overtraining. I have a kid that had shin splits and it was because his body need to readjusted. He went to a chiropractor and his shin splits went away. Also some athletes might need inserts and shin splits can go away. I am now believing that nutrition can also a big part of it. If the athletes don’t eat enough or eat enough of the right foods to replace what they lost then the body had to take it from somewhere (bone or muscle). Overtraining can be one cause of shin splints. So there needs to be a checklist to determine the what the cause is.
