Thanks so much for watching! Changing the water is key! It's definitely a pet peeve of mine when I see dirty water in clear glass vases. It's also something I think a lot of florists forget to save time to do. If you have 50 centerpieces and they all need their water changed before they go out for an event- that takes time!
Beautiful arrangement! You make the process look so easy. I'm curious why you consider lizzies a secondary focal. I grow them from seed and often wonder if it's worth the time and bed space. I love them, they're beautiful, but I find them hard to use in my mixed bouquets because the flowers are often on so many different levels. I hate trimming off and wasting flowers.
This is such a good question and comment. For me, if I'm using dahlias or sunflowers or lilies with lisianthus, their size alone makes them secondary. If I'm using them in something like a bridal bouquet, it might be easier for them to take center stage. As for using them in mixed bouquets- YES - its hard and i do end up trimming most of the side shoots off. It's heartbreaking. One suggestion might be to sell them as straight bunches instead of in mixed bouquets. Sell them in 3 or 5 stem bunches by themselves and let them be big and bushy. I think customers would love them like that and see a lot of value in getting a big, multi-bloomed stem.
@@ellenfrostflowers I see your point when using them with bigger flowers like dahlias. I've tried to sell a few of them in straight bunches, but people don't seem very interested. It's odd, I can't get my customers to see the value of lizzies and their long vase life. They go for the mixed bouquets. Thanks for your reply!
Beautiful bouquet, Ellen. I love your videos.
Great video, Ellen! Love the color combo.
Thanks for sharing your thought process! Have a great day. Anne
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! Do you ever design in vases like this?
Great info on refilling the water! Thanks Ellen

Great video! I haven’t been sure how to use that type of vase and this was very helpful. The arrangement is beautiful.
I love this color combo. Especially love the use of a green green, blue green and rusty green. That adds so much depth!
Thanks for your note. I love using a lot of different colors/styles/textures of foliage in designs. It does help create depth and interest.
So helpful! Thank you. Love the last element!
So glad you found it helpful! Do you ever design in this vase?

Of course I just ordered seeds for Kiss Me Over the Garden Fence!
Fun! they do tend to spread so look for a place where they have room to grow.
