    There’s no question she should resign. There are minimum age requirements to run for office, why shouldn’t there be a maximum age too?

    This is long past due. The Senator has shown distinct signs of mental dscay over the last couple of years. If her health and mental fitness are such that she cannot serve her constituents she must resign.

      To be fair she already said this was her last term, the race for her seat in 2024 has already begun. Take note chuck grassily is also 89 years old and was just elected to his seat in 2022 meaning he'll be 94 at the end of his term, and strom thurmand was serving senator of south carolina in 2003 at the age of 100 and died just 4 months after leaving office

    There really needs to be a retirement age for people who hold public office. That includes the Supreme Court. Just like trying to take the car keys from Grandpa, it seems like none of these lawmakers want to admit when they are no longer up to the job.

    I have wanted her to resign for three decades. She sold out the redwoods (her buddy used junk bonds to acquire some of the last old growth and cut them down to pay off his investors). Perhaps term limits would help with this problem.

      I'm for an age cut off, but not term limits that less than 20 years. It's unfair to The People when we have superstars like Katie Porter. If it was set at 20 years, a retirement age at 80, and a required cognitive psychological eval every five years after the age of 65, I'd support that. I also think every new candidate to run for federal office should pass an initial citizenship test and cognitive psychological evaluation.

      The justices were given lifetime appointments to keep them from being too swayed by the changing political climates and having to worry about being elected every term, so that their decisions are what they really think, not what is politically expedient from year to year. It is not meant for elected officials, who are supposed to be accountable to the voters for their legislation. The difference is the basis for the "checks and balances" of our governmental system.

    I'm a retired RN. There are vaccines that prevent shingles now. If you had chicken pox as a kid, you are very likely to come down with shingles as a senior. It's extremely painful. Even a light night shirt will cause some to scream. You can't sleep from the pain & need to take pain pills around the clock & sleeping pills to get a couple of hours rest. It usually takes a month or more to clear up, in some cases it never totally goes away. Lady...you've done much for this country, you deserve retirement. 😘

    We need term limits and/or age limits for Congress and the Senate. Nobody in their 70s or 80s should be in these positions, nor should anyone hold office for 30+ years. Once you either hold a position for 4 terms or reach the normal retirement age, you should not be able to run again for office.

    So I’m a little confused…they said the Senator has been out since March…which at this point is not very long at all…. Aren’t they breaking the law by trying to make her resign for being on Medical leave. Isn’t it a law that you are protected for up to 12 weeks with FMLA???     I would not hire a 90 year old lawyer. I would never hire a 90 year old to babysit my daughter. I would feel very uncomfortable in an Uber if my driver was 90. I wouldn’t wanna doctor anywhere close to 90 not even a therapist. If I was a manager at Walmart I would hire a 90 year old to be a greeter. But lately I’ve been noticing Walmart doesn’t have graders anymore so I don’t think there’s much out there for her. The idea that our government is so full of people over 80 is really disgusting and disturbing.
