What a great tutorial. Thumbs up for the clear way you described every step calmly and the excellent videoshots that supported your explenation very good.
I have exact same fabia, plate number 06, its been a work car for almost 2 year, I've put the seat down, but haven't took them out, but I think I'm going to make it a permanent work car, this video gave me an idea to make some more rooms in it for more tools. Thanks
@@HatBoyHarvey it's pal, you know I'm glad I've found my channel, very first video I cam across How to turn on service reminder. It helped its been three years I keep doing that when it's pop up, below the mileage.
Thank you. This helped me out a lot with my Skoda Octavia 1U, although the middle seat back is connected with a seatbelt so I have to unbolt it with a tool that can reach the right angle.
Hi pal, I've leaned a lot from your video. After I've took the rear seats out for bigger space. Now the key locking doesn't work to any door and it's happening most time, I usually open it manually using a keys It's annoying, can you help please?
Taking the seats out doesn't affect the central locking. A failing car battery can cause the locks not to actuate. Check the wiring behind the rubber bellows on the A pillar for fraying. Drivers door lock micro switch fails by telling the car is already open so and new locking mechanism or microswitch would solve that. If remote key then this needs to work.
I have MK1 Fabia Combi for 11 years. I did weird things with this car, even spent few nights in it :) But I never discovered how to remove rear seats completely. I was just removing "butt support" from the seat. Thanks for tip, I'll unmount it just for cleaning. BTW: Have you ever had false alarms on a dashboard that rear sit is folded? I guess there is some issue with microswitch.. but where it is :)
You're welcome, The switch was only fitted to some models after 04 i beleive, but not all. They introduced a revised centre belt also, so I guess this had something to do with it as it is behind the catch on the double part of rear seat back (6Q0 947 561/2 ). Make sure it's secure and not loose. Press it sharply a few times to remove anything jambing it. You can also adjust the rubber stops that are on the rear of the seat back to see if that helps :-)
@@mattf763 nahh i couldn't.. but you can use any tool put it inside and puch it down from that whole on the back seats the small iron peace... Then it will flip easy
Thanks for the demonstration. That seemed really easy. Do you know how long the space becomes, if you also slide the passenger seat forward? By the way, which year is the car?
Hola, acabo de descubrir tu canal y es fantástico, llevo años con mi Skoda Fabia 6Y y estoy descubriendo muchas cosas nuevas. Muy buen trabajo, muchas gracias.
Depends on the tester, officially all seats have to be securely in place and if the rear seatbelts are fitted to the car the seats must be in place also to pass . I believe if you take the belts out also then it will. Insurance is another thing and I of course I would not recommend this for road use only entertainment demonstration purposes ;-)
The rubber bush mounts are the most likely cause of squeaky creaks. Try pushing up and down on each corner of the car or jack the car up and move things about to locate the problem, not always easy to locate. Renew or lubricate.
The front console bushes go on these as the standard ones are too weak. Also the anti-roll bar bushes also fail, but they make a knocking noise over bumps. Sorry I havn't done a video on these bushes as I replaced mine 12 years ago with a home made tool.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just got a mk1 fabia myself. These videos are immensely helpful.
Thank you, Glad to help :-)

Glad it helped on the octavia; that would make it a very large space indeed!
Hey, I just wanna say Thank You for all those video =) I´m driving an 6Y5 and your video helped me prevent so stupid mistakes =)
Thanks, that is great to hear, all the best :-)
Nice video, thank you very much! ❤
Sadly my Fabia doesn't have devided rear seats. 😢
Oh dear, sorry I didn't know there was a fix seat version. Maybe you could get hold or find in a scrap yard a rear seat set with split seat!?
Nice one! Great video pal.
Glad you enjoyed :-)
Bookmarked this for when I need to take my Fabia hatch on the Ikea run!
Flat pack fabi run ;-)
@@HatBoyHarvey it holds a hell of a lot compared to other hatches we've owned. This one is definitely a keeper!

Thx a lot!

You're welcome. Wish you well my friend 🙏
Unfortunately on the vrs the seat belt is attached to the double seat :(
I also discovered this today. Slightly frustrating
what size is inside width and length? good video, thanks
Is that not in the description, if not then I'll put the measurement there, thanks :-)

Is it similar to fabia 2?
If it was left like this without the seats in would it pass it’s MOT?

Does that work with skoda rapid spaceback to? And thx for the vid
I don't know, if you have one you will have to tell me what you find holding the seats in place.

How to eject the middle seatbelt?
My 05 Fabia had the 3-point seatbelt on the double backrest but a 17mm socket and it disconnected at the bottom okay.
Super! 👍👍👍
