the combos in this video that didnt have the combo counter go up were probably because there was a 1 or 2 frame gap, you can't airdodge out so your only option is jump which the combo will frame trap

The combo counter thing in training doesn’t mean crap because it stops counting if you are out of hitstun for one frame which no character will be able to do anything out of

There are quite a handful of characters that can act out of combos frame one. Luigi has downb, puff has rest, snake has grenade, marth/Lucina has upb, even little Mac can escape frame 1 with upb and sometimes neutral b. The list goes on, but there are characters that can’t escape until like frame 4 so I see what you are saying
Okay well yes there are some characters but the majority of the roster can’t act out of a one frame window also top player reaction time to visual cues is 4-5 frames or about one 12-15th of a second meaning unless you are mashing and hit the frame one option on that specific frame a you or any top player won’t be able to do anything
