Michigan Marching Band - Michigan-Minnesota Game, October 27, 1956

This is a silent video of the Michigan Marching Band and Alumni Band at the Michigan-Minnesota football game in Ann Arbor on October 27, 1956. Note that the Alumni Band marches 6 steps per 5 yards as the MMB did prior to the 1948 Rose Bowl game.

These were still the old black and white "Symphony Band of the Gridiron" uniforms, designed to look like symphony tuxedos. It was a very cool idea.

Actually the tuxedo uniforms came out in 1962. These were old cross-belted uniforms that look like what tOSU still wears, except the MMB added a cape to the back.
