Assuming they are sticking with TSMC N4P (just like the datacenter blackwell), the leaked specs are borderline impossible unless it's a chiplet design. The biggest die TSMC on the N4P is around 800mm^2 and the 4090 is 609mm^2,.50% increase in both CUDA core and tensor core counts pushing up to the limits of manufacturing just dont seem likely at all for a consumer level card.
Edit: Crazy! recent leaks seems to suggest it is 2 pieces of silicon put on the same package just like their data center brothers. That is literally like putting 2 4080 die on the same package. There is no way they can sell the FE version less than $2000 USD. And third party card will be $3000.....

i honestly dont care about the 5090. nvidia is gonna feel the same pain intel felt when amd completely redesigned their cpus. The fact that amd is redesigning their gpus should have nvidia extremely worried because the complete redesign very likely means they are creating a multi die gpu and will crush nvidia.
This is why amd isnt putting alot of resources into rdna 4 and is instead banking on the generation after. its also not rdna 5 so quit calling it that because its a completely different architecture built from the ground up.
my thinking is they likely want to release them next year and put in nvidia in a world of hurt but who knows when they will release them.
be forwarned that any nay sayers comments are gonna age like milk so feel free to roast me.

I ended up with a 4080 just for the 16GB of VRAM. I wanted to try AMD and had a 7900xt, but it couldn't reliably run all three matching 1080p monitors. One was constantly getting stuck in 800x600 and nothing but a reboot would fix it. I really wanted to roll with the AMD and next time I will get a CPU with integrated Graphics to run my extra monitors and use the GPU for only the primary gaming monitor. Currently have the 12700KF so no integrated graphics.

Well, unless you'll be playing at 1080p with your 5090 there won't be any CPU bottleneck even on the cheaper 7000 ryzens. As far as 1440p goes you're fine even on a 4080, the high-end 50 series will be more useful to 4K gamers who will finally be able to play most things in that resolution at 60FPS without upscaling.

You have to remember, the 4090 doesn't use the full AD102 die, and I can guarantee that nVIDIA is not going to give us the full die on the 5090, mainly because they have no reason to! AMD won't have anything to compete with even the 5080, much less the 5090 (even if it is cut down by 10-20% or even by 25-30%. And be ready for a paper launch; I'll bet 98% of people who want it will have a tough time getting a hold of one before at least the middle of next year, if not longer! Nice idea, maybe... but if you're willing to take a bit of feedback... this is just a video of someone reading a spec sheet and precious little else.
There was so much potential here that seems to have been ignored. For example, you walk through the specification changes for streaming multi-processors, CUDA Cores and so on... but make no effort to explain what any of this means in the real world. Does this mean bigger texture maps, faster loading of textures, higher frame rates, or something else? Reading the numbers from a screen shot of a Twitter post doesn't actually help. Would have been nice to understand how each of the changes might have an impact on e.g. different popular games, on rendering, etc., etc.
Or how about looking at power consumption? The RTX2080Ti had a TDP of 250 Watts; the 3090 hit 350 Watts and 4090 comes out at 450. Yes, you mention that 600 Watts is possible, but what impact will this have on thermals? Noise? Minimum spec PSUs? What about the impact for water cooling? Whats the minimum radiator needed?
Get the feeling that if you had been willing to put in just a little bit more research, you could have come up with something a lot more interesting.

I'd use the 5090 just like my 4090 now: max UV, FPS limit to 115 FPS on 120Hz LG OLED 65 inches screen, using DLSS Quality even there where I don't need it for more efficiency! So why do I need the 5090? Maybe finally usong RT and PT? Nah, I even don't use and need it with my 4090 with DLSS on quality. So I'd use the 5090 still with a 5800X3D with maybe 1/3 of its full power and wait as long as there finally will be OLED displays at 65 inches with 240Hz 4k panels👍🏻✅🤣

Ummm let's see, if Nvidia sticks with their 12 connector they're going to have to prove it won't have a meltdown, also if you got the money hey go for it, buy a 5090 is poor people can live through you, also I'm not saying I know what they are going to cost, but Nvidia did say they compete on quality not on price, this new 50 series could indeed be a goat series, and I will be looking forward to what the lower cards look in performance and price. I ended up getting a 4060 laptop variation was not expecting much out of it, but ya know that thing keeps my 1080 p gaming right on course, it also seems to handle my content creating just fine yeah I wish I had more v ram but my daughter bought the laptop for me and well it means a lot to me, so I certainly don't complain about 8 gigs. So far it is doing good no I can't run everything on the highest settings but hey, some of those settings are a little on the over kill side.
I am building a new tower so this new round of GPUs from AMD or Nvidia I am quite interested in.
I don't need a 5090 but I would like to see what the 5070 or 5060 has in store, as well as the price.

Next gen GPUs are going to be way faster too, with better software on the nvidia side. I wonder how many how many console gamers have converted to PC gaming. You know with ai and all.
The 5090 prices is going to be nuts with demand, I don't think nvidia wants to make the mistake of pricing it too low. Price creep up if so. We'll see how the sales are for the 5080, which may be like 1300 dollars.

Combine all of that with architectural improvements, and the 5090 could definitely be 70-80% faster than the 4090 at native 4K raster, and the gains should be even larger in ray traced games. The 5090 will use a cut down GB202 chip. From the leaks I have seen, the full chip comes with 216 SMs. That definitely leaves quite a lot of performance headroom left for a 5090 Ti that would be significantly faster.
