- Overstocked on guppy fry so I create an outdoor fish tank to grow them out. Simple set up using a laundry tub and a sponge filter that anyone can do. This is a breeding for profit set up so once the guppies are adults I will sell them off.
Thanks for watching, like i said this was my first true video and its going to take some practice. I hope to see you in the future because I am really enjoying this so I hope you are as well!
I was thinking of making a outdoor pond like this, I have a lot of guppy Fry. Thanks for posting this, makes me want to make one even more.
Go for it! I think you will enjoy it, so far I have. It really is pretty simple, just make sure you have a plan for all those fish once you cant keep them out there anymore. Thanks for watching!
Digging the whole vibe on your channel. Delivery is on point as well.. I use those same sponge filters they are very versatile.
That really means a lot coming from you, I have been watching your channel for a while now and have gotten some great info off of there. Those sponge filters are pretty great so far, and they are cheap too.
Your idea and first youtube video were great!
Samantha Ivanov thanks, I was really nervous putting this out there.
Aqua Apprentice you did great👍👌
Awesome video man..nice setup cant wait for an update 👍👍your doing a great job so far..
Angelo's Fish Tanks Thanks for the words of encouragement #fishfam.
Great video Aqua Apprentice. Really enjoyed watching, good editing and video quality. Gave me an idea as well, I'm in Miami so worried a little about the heat.
Thanks that really means a lot to me! The heat can be challenging here so I think a full shade set up is definitely best and you could also bury it a little if you need it even cooler. FYI for some reason your comment on my other video came up as spam so I ignored it. Since it was obviously not spam I went ahead and subbed your channel and will check it out after work today.
Aqua Apprentice Yea, my backyard is actually tile, and not too much shade. How about putting a partial lid on the container? What do you do if it rains? Thinking water level might rise too much,PH swings idk
I think a partial lid may work but floating plants would probably be optimal if you can find some. So I used Cory from aquarium coop's technique to handle rain over flow, simply just drilled a few small holes towards the top of the bin so it can drain if it rains to much. The PH swings I am not sure about but wasnt to worried about since they are guppies, but you did make me curious so I will do a PH test after a while and see how much it has been affected.
Dang you look just like my neighbor .I guess you have a twin in South Texas, I subed.
Joe Munoz haha 😂 thanks for the sub and locating my dopelganger.
Good looking guppies!
Thank you Michael appreciate the support you have shown me, it helps motivate and give me confidence.
I loved the video. Gave me some good ideas. I am going to have a little tub pond this year. Been to cold to put fish out yet but I have had it cycling for a couple of weeks. I'm ready just waiting on the weather. lol Have a good one.
Awesome, I really enjoyed it so I hope you do as well. So many options on what you can have out there and hopefully the weather calms down soon. Hope you have a good one as well.
Nice video, keep up the good work!
Appreciate it EJ. Still learning a lot and plan on upgrading equipment in the future so hopefully things get even better.
This was awesome! I like how you had took your time doing this video! Very enjoyable build up. Sorry to hear that lady retire and all but guppies can sell themselves getva O2 tank and ship as well as your convention. That white water sprite looks dope I wish it came white lol. Anyway catch you in a month. Audio was fine man.
Deon 0026 need clarification on the "getva 02"? It would be kinda cool to have a white plant out there. thanks for stopping in Deon, much appreciated.
Keep the vids coming, I'm sub #45.
NYGOLD thanks it is much appreciated. Saw some goldfish stuff on your channel and I will be sure to check that out!
Thanks for taking a look at my channel, I have a bunch of guppy footage I took over the last month I just have to put it together.
NYGOLD I completely understand, it can take some time to put together a video.
Hey I'm glad I came across your video I want to set up a tub myself and you gave me some good ways to protect the pump from rain,my electric is cool I have a 30 gallon bin I only gonna fill three quarter of the way.I live in Miami in Westchester have you been to neighborhood fish farm off of Bird they have killer fish.great video!!
I dont go to Miami to often other than to see family but I will definitely make a stop at neighborhood fish farm next time. Glad you got some ideas from the video, that really inspires me to continue making videos. Thanks for the sub as well, I hope to see you in future vids.
Great job on the video man!
Appreciate it Steve and welcome to the channel.
This setup reminds me of my own system. I use a lot of water lilies instead of heavily filtering mini ponds
Yea it worked great, as you can see though my plant idea didn’t work so well. When I try again I will give it another shot. I saw that most things you do are outside, which I enjoy.
A note on the included airline stick: It does connect to standard 1/4" tubing like you showed but you need to push it onto the lip of the stick from an angle to open the end of the tube. Then, you slowly and carefully work the end of the tubing onto the rest of the lip. The tubing should expand around the stick and keep a tight fit. I have a bunch of these XinYou filters and they're all like this.
Thanks yes I actually finally figured it out myself as well. Used hot water on the airline first and it made it more pliable and attached fairly easy. Appreciate the info though.
Great video. keep em coming
Thanks for watching Dee.
Some good info here. It helps to see how things can go wrong as well as go right. Are the plants coming back, or are they completely dead? Beautiful fish btw.
Hi Cubby didnt know you had a youtube account. I dont think they could have been saved, but I didnt get the chance to find out because my 1yr old decided they didnt belong in there 😀. Thanks for checking it out!
Aqua Apprentice Haha guess the kid gets final say. Yeah I haven't done much with it yet, but I have plans. Looking forward to your next video.
CubbysAquatics love your instagram so I imagine you can do great things with RUclips as well. Look forward to seeing you on here more often.
Aqua Apprentice thanks
Great video! New sub! 👍
Sweet! Welcome to the channel Hunter.
Nice channel, just subbed.
Guppies Home thanks I always appreciate the support.
Great video, just subscribed, I am in FL as well where are you located? I am in S. FL
Thanks for the sub, I am in central FL right by Tampa.
I subbed to your channel.
awesome vid budro you did a great job on your 1st video, if you looking for a place to house some
guppies you can hit me up I just set up a 30 gal with just 5 guppies for a start up & if you need to let some of
your guppy grass go I could surely use a pinch of it to get a start on my little guppy start up I'll pay the shipping.
Congrats on the new set up. 30 Gallons full of guppies should be a lot once your breeding 😁. I actually got rid of most of everything because I just moved. Almost settled so I will need to build back up and start my hobby again. Thanks for watching, glad you liked it.
@@AquaApprentice I just have 5 guppies in a 30 gal tank & right now they have had a
FEW babies but nothing to write home about ha ha ha
Which air pump did you use for this? Is it rain/weather proof?
No it’s nothing special I just covered the pump with Tupperware and kept it off the ground so water wouldnt mess it up.
chlorine will evaporate in time depending on volume but defiantly 6 hours to over night. my prof of this is my 40 gallon goldfish tank which i have been running for 2 years.l hear him say it a few times. he has a mass carbonation for his whole fish room that he says manages it. that is also the only buffer he has on his water changes.
in fact im being recomended him by the sugested videos next to this comment
impokejon haha that's funny that it's the next recommended video. What's his channel name? and I can give it a look
I live in southern california... can I breed a guppy pond year round?
shoelesblondlady I don’t think year round will be possible due to the winters just getting down to low. I usually sell mine before winter and bring some indoors.
I will make a outdoor fish pond because I have thousands of guppy
That was the same boat I was in. Really helps and gives you time to sell or find a new home for them.
I would like some guppies
pretty much any fish store should carry guppies. They are one of the most common fish unless you are looking for a specific strain?
I meant if you had trouble finding the fish u have some good homes
OH! LOL got ya. Luckily I got most of them sold through my local fish club and didnt get over run.
Nice video . I would like to adopte some gupies
Adams Omar thanks, maybe in the future, I got rid of most of them a couple months ago to prepare for winter.
some of ur fry look over a mont or 2 old they can breed at 2months might wanna seperate
They definitely had the potential of breeding but without any cover I would say the majority of them got ate. I think I only ended up with like 5 new fry. I have since taken it down when winter came about.
I would buy some but I live in Washington I'm starting to breed them with some females and a male
It can be a lot of fun once you get them going but your definitely going to want to have a plan for overstock because they will keep coming.
