Banaras /varanasi/kashi is the holy city for hindus(sanatanis) bcz of kashi vishwanath,manikarnika,kashi is the bed of aghor and tantric hinduism too
It is also the holy city for buddhists (bcz lord buddha gave his first teachings in Banaras-sarnath)
Varanasi is holy for jains too (bcz their 4 thirthankers were born here)
It is the holy for ravidasis and kabirpanthis too(bcz kashi is the birthplace of sant kabir and sant ravidas )
U r visiting to one of the mostl ancient city in the world

Yes sure....There are 4 gates in Kashi Vishwanath Temple, You can enter from any gate and exit from any gate...Yes after collecting you footwear you can go towards Godowlia Chowk
