A few years ago I saw a animal bed concept like that that had removable freezer modules, like the solid plastic ones, you would put in a cooler after leaving the modules in freezer over night. The modules were essentially puncture resistant unlike gel packets. It was used for dogs, zoos like big cats, and equestrian. It would be nice if I could install modules in a dog beg like yours for my rottie.
@jmd1743 Hey, gave this a little more thought and it would actually work with the bed's existing construction. Simply lift the top sheet and slide in some common freezable gel packs in that come with ice pack kits. We could provide these also, but that would provide a handy mechanism to insert the cooling pads directly beneath the breathable Cordura top sheet and overtop of the vinyl, which the foam inside would naturally insulate from underneath. A top sheet could also be made with pockets in specific spots for gel packs, or a larger cooling sheet sized for the bed could be provided.
Nice bed, looks it would be able to take a big dog rough housing with it. Being able to strip it down to component parts to clean helps. Biggest issue I have had with beds - either the stuffing-mattress was junk or the cover was, most times both. Checked your site, nice stuff; bit pricey, but not outrageously so. You are getting a quality product one time, not junk 3 or 4 times. See you soon..

I'd beg to differ.. Some breeds prefer certain surfaces to others in different weather conditions, but "the ground" leaves a lot to be desired, at least as far as most pet owners (myself included) are concerned. Sometimes the ground is the preferred option. If I could add a pic I would. Yesterday afternoon both my shepherds were snuggled up on a single bed while the husky was sleeping on the snow a few feet away - the snow also being soft and insulating against the colder outdoor temperatures. When my malamutes are in the house, they will find the comfiest spot available, generally the couch, but also prefer the snow at times when outside. They’re always on the beds when in the garage whether overnight or for shelter where the alternative "ground" is a thin mat on a concrete floor. On a hot summer they prefer the cool of a freshly dug dirt wallow under a hedge given their dense fur coats. You don't need the best of the best, an old blanket can serve as a suitable 'dog bed' in many cases. It is certainly better to give the pet the choice rather than being ignorant about their comfort.
