it doesn’t show it here but i love how after the credits end your left with the unending ambience of the void. you literally have to quit the game yourself to leave. perfect depiction of how adrian is basically stuck in a time vortex until gman sees fit

I'm kinda late but I'm glad that they made that ambiance aswell. The fact that the Gman took the words of "in a place where you can do no harm and no harm can come to you" very seriously is a very cool touch. Ngl though, I wish Valve would use the character of Adrian again, it's kinda sad that the poor bastsrd just wanted to leave, had his own comrades die while attempting to do so only for the Gman to just seal him away.
the intro scene in the chopper is breathtaking, and the dialogue, beyond funny and hilarious.

Yeah the marine next door didn't hear the order cause he was busy so
Gordon Freeman had killed many of their own this point in time, some HECU still hunted Freeman after the order was issued; as most of the HECU believed that he was responsible for the disaster.

I remember playing this as a kid without knowing what to do. In the very beginning I spent probably an hour trying to jump over the electrocuted helicopter. Eventually, I did it. I ended up with like 3 health.
I can relate.
That's the fun of it. There are frequently easy ways and really difficult ways. In the room early on where the G-man saves you by opening a door (7:48), I kept climbing the ladder, but you don't need to at all

@@Rayman1971 Yeah, I know! The only things that the HECU soldiers say is "Uh, roger that!" to anything. Sometimes they deviate from that line, but I don't think there's ever been a play-through of Opposing Force where the player doesn't hear a soldier say something stupid at a random time.

Back in days when storyline was way more important than graphics. Just having a chance to play pretty much same incident trough eyes of three different characters that didn't had any sort of connection until you finished game and came to conclusion that all three characters survived Mesa thanks to pure luck and a little bit a help from a G-man... Makes you wonder who is pawn and who is boss? It hurts to see that Valve doesn't give a crap about HL series and especially they don't give a crap about OPF since they never included Adrian storyline to the original Freeman storyline and probably never will...

I don't play video games. I love watching other people play especially being able to watch my favorite games played the way you made them into a movie like situation. You did a fantastic job on Half-Life and I can't tell you how many times I've watched the series you made. Thanks for the wonderful job and the great entertainment you've provided for us game watchers!

8:33 .. Gman is always near! I just love the amount of detail the game devs put into this. I was really into HL many years ago .. and was aware of the other HL releases. But I had not realized how you can view and play the same incident from different perspectives and characters. And I had not realized just how deep the lore goes. I was aware of the extreme fandom, but never really paid much attention to the series until recently, when I decided to get back into gaming and sims again. You play really well btw, and keep your audience in mind while playing. Much appreciated.

20 years since it's release and the atmosphere that this game conveys it's much more powerful and clear than any other game you see today.They don't make them like that no more.
I just beat it for the first time, what an amazing game. I got into HL when I bought the orange box but since then bought the complete valve pack and started to play through hf-1. I'm blown away at how good the original series is even by todays standards the graphics and textures where pretty good. I did not bother to play the source version. SO MUCH FUN

I love the non regeneration of health and armor. Also ammo seemed more scare than it does in modern games I love the fact that you have to be more careful with ammo depletion. Half life is an amazing series. It's sad to see it forgotten about by modern AAA devs.

At around 15:15, I thought I was supposed to take that Security Guard up the lift to unlock that door up there where the three vortigaunts were standing in front of. My plan wasn't working though because the security guard kept on running back to the entrance of the scientist's room. Also too, here's a pro tip, if you ask the security guard to follow you, he will take down all the aliens for you with his magnum, and unlock that security room that is located near that scientist's room. That security room has some much needed supplies if your running low on ammo.
Crazy Piotr I know that, who wouldn't know? Its common sense, but this guy just mossied on along as if he didn't give a care in the world for that security gaurd in that point of the game. It's as if its one of those dang speed runs. In this video I would of shown about how the security guard would open that security door for you around the time I listed up above. You could probably say he was trying to "lone wolf it" around that area, but if I were in his shoes at the time of developing this video, I would show a 100% of what you can do around that area, but I digress. I see how this video was meant to give a general outlook of how to get through the chapter of the game. I was just simply implying of how that jolly O'l Canadian security guard could help you along your journey around that point in time as soon as you get off that moving trolly thing, or whatever its called. I was simply covering what he did not cover in my previous comment. There is no need to belittle me with your comment as if your talking to a young child that simply has no common sense about the basic mechanics of the game. What kind of person do you take me for, a kid? I've been playing video games since around 1999, and I'm adaptable to any game console. I've had my share with the Playstation, the Sega Dreamcast, the Super Nintendo, the Gameboy color, the Nintendo 64, the Game Cube, the Gameboy Advance, the Gameboy Advance SP, the playstation 2, the Xbox, the Nintendo wii, the Playstation 3, the Xbox 360, the Nintendo DS, the Xbox one, and of course PC. I have had my share with a large variety of games in my life time, and still have more games to discover and play. Games over the years have taught me tye value of how they generally operate, and how they function as a whole. They also taught me the value of easter eggs, especially Call Of Duty Black Ops Zombies. I've played many game series such as the Time Splitter series (my personal favorite being TS Future Perfect), and excluding the first TS game. I've also played the famous game "Sonic Adventures", on the Sega Dreamcast, and the Nintendo Game Cube. I'm just letting you know this as proof to you that I have credibility in the gaming world, and proof to you that I know my sh** when posting my comments.
Crazy Piotr Well gosh jolly gee whilikers Crazy Piotr, I guess my comment has no significant relevance to the game if some players find it easier to just off the closest AI friend in the area. I, however, value the concept of team work, so if there's danger ahead that I know that my security guard buddy can't handle, I simply tell him to wait behind a corridor, until I give him the "okay" to follow me, but if there's just head crabs and head crab zombies, then I will let my security guard buddy join in on the fight. You'll never know what doors can be unlocked without your security guard buddy. This game is probably how the video game "The Thing" got the idea for its AI, which follow you in the game and abide by your every order, that is, if they trust you though (In the game "The Thing" you had to gain some of the AI's trust by giving them guns or ammo. I played "The Thing" first before I played the Half-Life game and it's affiliated DLC, so I was pleased to use AI once again to aid me in my quest.
Oh, I didn't know that. This actually helped me, lol!

15:35 this was the hardest puzzle for my in the whole half life franchise. the location of the vent made no sense to me. i thought the guard was meant t come with you up on the elevator thus why the door says security. hardest puzzle honestly
Dude, same! Like, literally at the bottom of the lift they have Otis open a security door. And at the top of the lift, there's a security door. It seems like that was heavily implying for you to bring the guard up with you.

I saw it as something unnecessary, i tried climbing to that vent using the suit charger because i knew that i could stand on that suit charger which is very unrealistic and boom, i did not want to believe that this was the thing i was supposed to do but yes it really was. I tought i should've gone trough that door but no, its locked. I just like experimenting with bugs in games so thats why i didnt struggle about it but i understand you.

Watching this Walkthough made me want to replay this game myself. But it took me way more than an hour and a half to beat this. There are some very challenging parts like the one at 1:01:30 which took me several attampts. Those damn one eyed aliens.
Also I shot the guard at 1:17:20 beacuse I thought he was an enemy. Funny thing was: he just kept talking wihle lying on the ground :D
The vortigore tunnel was by far the worst if its your first time playing , i realized you can just use negev or that alien green goo shooter , i didnt know i could get it back after the chapters.

Opposing Force has more interesting ambiguity between moral choices you make in the game, like finding out you had orders to execute civilians knowing that they helped you earlier in the game. The other two half life campaigns has killable allies as well, but Opposing Force sprinkles in larger friendly/enemy encounters that makes this expansion much more chaotic and lively than the original Half Life was. I also think that Opposing Force's isolated parts of the campaign, like the encounter with the nest of Voltigores make the world of Opposing Force much more menacing throughout.
The nodding really adds to the immersion :)

9:45 you have no idea how much I searched for this area, my brother used to play it and i'd watch him and this place stock with me the most.. I didn't know it was in Opposing force tho.
I always wonder how did Shepard went to Lambda complex in such a short time since he crash not to far from the Anomalous Materials section and the fact that it took severals hours to Gordon to reach the complex, and that both locations are quite to the opposite ends of Black Mesa.
But then I think "Nah, it's just a game. A good game."
The soldiers and aliens were the reason why it takes a long time for Freeman to get to the Lambda complex

This is actually the first Half-life game I bought back in 2000. In hindsight, it's clearly short but intense. The final boss, compared to Nihilanth, is not as epic.
You wanna know why I love this playthrough? Because it's not like a "no health lost" walkthrough it's one where you do lose health and you keep changing guns, like your just another player with no "pure skill" just playing the game like anyone else would: the way you want
