Dude It was a breeze. Your "play by play " instruction. From the ordering process to the installation was a piece of cake. Kudos to you. thanks for taking the time to record & share for us newbies.
Thanks buddy, yeah I originally found it difficult to know what parts were needed and where to get them, and how to do the install, so I am glad I've been able to help a lot of people out with this video.
Thanks much. Just installed the center stand on my CTX700 with the invaluable help of your video. I had to turn the exhaust clamps so the nut heads are 90 degrees to the outside to avoid them hitting the springs on the center stand. I ordered the stopper kit from Webike Japan but it's taking longer to get them. Maybe in a week or two. Until then I won't ride the bike as the center stand would hit the chain without the stopper. Great job and the ratchet trick work as advertised!
Excellent vid - thank you! One thing about center stands, they are engineered to be used like a lever (the stand) & fulcrum (the ground) & once you understand how that works, lifting doesn’t require as much effort as you displayed using the carabiner. You won’t need that at all once you get the hang of it. After you make sure both of the center stand feet are on the ground evenly, the bulk of the effort is pushing down with your foot.
@@outie555 - push down with your foot while pulling back on the handlebar & seat bar at the same time - its kind of a rocking motion. The main key is having both of the feet of the stand on the ground flat & supporting the bike. Don't over think it, women can do it with relative ease. Once you get it you'll see it is dead easy.
After 6 months in the box, I finally got around to installing the center stand that you suggested. I watched your video a couple more times and the job went just as you demonstrated, ratchet strap and all. Well Almost. I still use the stock muffler. The way that the factory installed the muffler/tailpipe coupler band (collar) and the bolt and nuts positioned them in a way that they interfered with the centerstand springs.. So I had to remove and rotate the coupler band ( pipe collar) and reinstall the stock muffle. All is good. I also used a large carabiner as you demonstrated in the video to lift the bike onto the centerstand. It's a workout putting the bike onto its centerstand. BTW it was done in the dark in my driveway with a large flashlight. Tedious but fairly easy job.
That's great to hear the video helped. I've gone back to the stock muffler and had the same issue but easy enough to twist the bolt clamp thingy as you did.
I need to thank you for your information and video. I installed this center stand on my 2014 CTX700D, and it worked beautifully! All because of you! So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Yup I used this ratchet strap trick installing on my BMW F800ST. Worked like a charm. Took me a few tries to get her on perfectly. I recommend wearing safety goggles when your doing it and gloves. There is much pressure being harnessed setting that spring. Man it felt good getting it on there. It was freaking hard. I searched around and saw a few different methods of dealing with that spring. The ratchet strap was best.
Thank you so much for the video. I have 2014 Honda CTX700 DCT ABS, I ordered the stand and the stopper using the links provided in the description. Everything fit and installed perfectly. Thanks again. Best of luck!
Thanks for the help! Great video. However, the stock exhaust clamp does interfer with the operation of the center stand. This can be remedied by rotating the clamp out of the way, but the only position I found that works sticks out beneath the black exhaust sheild. I will probably look at putting a lower profile aftermarket hose clamp on to secure the exhaust, or just get a shorty. Also, a little trick I learned for installing springs: Install the frame mounted springs first, as in the video, but instead of using the straps, I just used a screwdriver to leverage the spring into the centerstand .
Thanks for your tips. I have put the stock exhaust back on with no issues, so my bracket must be in the right position now on my bike for that, but haven't seen it stick out or anything. I did get mine second hand so maybe it's not the standard exhaust clamp?
Good instructions. Followed all steps as described, and I was surprised how easy it was. The largest pain was to figure out how to use a rachet tie. I messed up 3 before I got the fourth to work. Thanks again.
I have finished my installation except for the springs (trying to find my ratchet straps). Boy, installing the upper screw for the springs is a pain (such a tight spot). I should have subcontracted the screw installation to a 13 year old girl with thin fingers. Of course it would have been easier if there wasn't snow on the ground and my fingers weren't cold. This video really made the installation straight forward ... thanks!
Thanks for the video. I ordered from the links and it got here in less than a week from Japan. I did not even have to remove my stock exhaust just rotate the bolts a little as they were in the way of the stand. Thanks.
I ordered these parts from webike.net as linked to by outie555. I ordered them on a Saturday, and by Thursday they arrived in my tiny little town in Ontario, Canada. I can't even get a letter across Canada that fast, but a parcel from Japan arrives in under four working days. Impressive!
+Garth Howe yeah they are a great company with a quick to send courier. They came quick for me too, so more than happy to send more people there way with the links in the description :)
Wow ..wow! What a well done video... well lit, in focus, great narration. Given such a great video, a centre stand is definitely on my shopping list. Thank you very much.
+Phat Cruiser yeah it made it an easy job with the strap. Got the idea from a different video for another bike but they attached to the wheel and without any padding which just looked a bit dangerous if the wheel moved even a little
Thumbs up. Great video. Thank you. One question: Since Honda is not supplying a center stand for the CTX700, could it be because any side bags on the bike would hide or block access to the stand as it seems it would be right over it? One would have to remove the left saddle bag to get access and a good lifting grip. I am looking at buying a CTX700 and would like a center stand, saddle bags and hand guards too but everything must be functional. Thanks again.
I have since installed the Shad 3 point harness for SH36 saddle bags. The harness is a L L shaped rail that makes for a great hand grip when lifting the bike onto the center stand. the stock honda bags are the only ones that use the existing stock bracket on the bike that i used to lift it, so if you planned to install the honda brand ones then you would have to remove the bag on that side to help lift. to be honest, you would probably take it off any way if you were putting the bike on the center stand to clean your chain as it would get in the way otherwise. Hope this helps, oh and the 3 point harness can be seen in this video: ruclips.net/video/J3opj3Dw6w0/видео.html
thanks buddy, it took a few hours of time trolling forums and no one else had made a video on this for this bike (the closest was some dude who already installed it talking about the stand), so i thought i might as well give a tutorial a go. so hope it helps out a lot of people in the future.
I’m jealous. I just called the Honda dealer and they said Honda doesn’t make a center stand for the Honda ctx 700 dct. And I don’t feel comfortable doing it myself I’m not too handy. 😢
Yeah this one is for another Honda Bike but still fits. I have also seen another company has also made a purpose built stand for the CTX (Hepco & Becker 505.984 00 01 Center Stand). You can always ask a mechanic if they will install it for you and you pay for the labour.
outie555 yes that’s what I was thinking 🤔 it looks easy but just not sure if I should do it. I’m going to call the dealership and see if they can install it anyway. I bought the stand so we will see. thanks a bunch
TBH i dont know, but maybe put the question on www.ctx700forum.com and/or on the facebook groups "Honda CTX 700 DCT and N" or "Honda NC700X, CTX700, CTX700N, CTX1300 Fans/Owners"
great video bud!! still relevant 6 years later..
Thank You
Cheers!
Thank you for your kind words

agreed, and with a twist of the front wheel you can get some more mechanical advantage :-)

Installed mine this evening after watching, thanks!
Great to have been able to help buddy.
Thank you. You video make me to buy the center stand with the stopper today. Very easy explanation. 👍👋
I use mine a lot and it makes chain maintenance very easy.
Nice one dude, very informative, sure it'll help someone. Centre stands are invaluable in my eyes, both for maintenance, or just more stable parking
+Spectre223 yep they sure are. Just makes life much simpler
THANK YOU!!! Love my install and the parts from your link were perfect and lowest price I found. Subscribed!
Terrific that I could help you out with the install buddy :)
Good video. Very clear instruction. Good camera work
Glad it was helpful!
Wow! you make look easy. I will follow your instructional video.
Wow ..wow! What a well done video... well lit, in focus, great narration. Given such a great video, a centre stand is definitely on my shopping list. Thank you very much.
thanks Garth. i did my best to make it usable and comments like yours are what drives me to keep going. thanks buddy :D
Top stuff mate. The centre stand certainly comes in handy. And look at you McIver with your ratchet strap spring tensioner lol. Well done mate!
+Phat Cruiser yeah it made it an easy job with the strap. Got the idea from a different video for another bike but they attached to the wheel and without any padding which just looked a bit dangerous if the wheel moved even a little
Macgyver
Cool now it will make things a lot easier as you say chain adjustment oil change ect.
+banditnev absolutely does! saves me about 10 minutes of time when cleaning the chain
Excellent information my friend, Very nicely done on the instal. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a blessed week.
+Heartland Dual Sport thanks and you too buddy
Thank you. Your video is great. I followed all the l steps and it came out perfect. The strap trick was a good idea and easy.
Brilliant, good job buddy.
Very well done video. Really helped me - thank you!
excellent vdo. yes sure must have a stand.
Very detailed tutorial man. Well done :). I'll be doing a tutorial on how to install a 12V charger the proper way ;).
thanks buddy. nice one, i will look forward to it

Double thank you for your info and your comprehension. Your are great!
looks like it springs up to hit the chain ?
Thanks it was very clear and helpful
+SUSAN MUNDY no problem. I will keep on making these videos to help people like yourself :)
Thank you for posting...It made my install much easier!
You're welcome buddy
Getting that spring on was hard.
Did you do the ratchet strap trick?
Do I need the stopper if I'm keeping the stock exhaust? I've read it's only needed for aftermarket exhaust.
Yes, get it otherwise the stand feet will rub against your chain
Wow mate well made video :D
