I use the Refugio to go to the office and I don't have a good tech pouch so with their sleeve i could actually take more advantage of the bag space as all accessories would be together in a flat surface
I have the old version which has more organization and more hooks, but the laptop/tablet compartment is in the main compartment. I do not think it is worth upgrading if you have the previous version. Great review by the way.
I’ve been thinking about getting the new Refugio 30L, but it feels like they just took the Chacabuco 30L and put the organizational pockets into the laptop sleeve-in other words they just consolidated the design. Still, Patagonia bags are lit-thanks for the review!
I love Patagonia, but the lack of an organizer pocket is a deal breaker for me. I need an easily accessible place to put my passport, boarding passes, printed itinerary, airpods. clip my keys, and so on. IMO this is a big step backwards from the Refugio 28 which, unfortunately, now seems to be unavailable.
@@Engearment I prefer not having any organizer pocket. It takes up room, adds weight, and I prefer my own pouches. They never have the right size pockets for what I want to carry.
Hi Sean, What Baselayer are you wearing right there? kind of remind me of the old Lightweight Caps from Patagonia back in the day, shame they dont make em lightweight anymore.
@@Engearment smaller from 28L, removed organization pockets in both previous compartments. removed said second compartment for just a laptop compartment that is not expandable whatsoever
@@7aemr I agree. I have, or, rather, had, the 28L, but my wife has adopted it, so I'm left with the need for a new bag, and the lack of any organisation is ridiculous. If I don't want to carry a laptop around, so what am I left with? Might as well use my Patagonia Black Hole Tote, but that isn't designed for heavy carry, and the latest one of those has done away with padding in the bottom. Guess I will be looking at the Black Hole Pack 25L, or something from Thule or Alpaka or Bellroy.
@@7aemr I've already got the Greenland Top, can't say I like the G1000 material 😂. I'm now looking at the Thule Accent 23 and Thule Tact 21. Decided on smaller sizes as less problems boarding budget airlines 🙄, and I seem to have several larger bags already. Incidentally, bought the Columbia Atlas Explorer 26L a couple of weeks back - fairly minimalist but excellent value.
Very clever design, thanks for the review!
Thank you, Paul 🙌
Just bought this for my Gf, Im am happy with my purchase now. Thank you!
Excellent! Really happy that she is enjoying it. Thanks for sharing the positive experience!

Good feedback 👌
Thanks for the review! Would’ve loved to see what it looked like with you wearing it
That is a good call! I will be better about that in the future. Thanks!
I absolutely love mine!

Good insights! Thanks for that. And thanks for the nice note! 🙌
Not a very big fan of the new design, or rather a whole separate zipper laptop compartment in general.

Good feedback. I have a meeting in person with Patagonia next monday, and can share that feedback with them.

totally agree
@@DD-d6d3 do you want your passport to be dangling around, but in a duffle?
would it be good for school and carrying books?
100%. That is one of the target audiences.
Would you be able to say if it'll squeeze in a 16 inch laptop?
If you had to choose one, what would you choose? Black Hole 25L or this Refugio DayPack 26L
I run the side strap through the water bottle lid, never falls out.
Good call
What was that ‘thing’ at the top in the middle, for water?
What do I do if I get caught in a rain storm
Melt
Would love to see the comparison!
My laptop is 15.6 inches length, i wonder if it can fit into that
I have a 16inch MacBook, you think it’ll fit ?
Is the compartment for the laptop sleeve suspended from the bottom or does it go all the way to the floor?
There's a couple inches of suspension
would it be possible to fit shoes in the quick access pocket (vertical zip pocket)?
Yes

Good call on the Patagonia Light Cap. Those were great. This is the Ibex Indie Hoodie - ruclips.net/video/dyKgM7s5Ma0/видео.html
Are this back for
Men or women
Patagonia is charging over $100 for a Wal Mart bag you can get for $20-30
my husband bought this backpack and it's so tiny on him, looks like it's for a kindergartener hahahhahahaha I can't stop laughing about it
😆😆
I’m glad I purchased this one and not the Atom pack then. I was afraid this would be too large for an everyday backpack
RE-FUJIO is the correct pronunciation
Thanks
Looks like you slimmed down
Beefed up
I don't want a variety of organizers, but zero organizer pocket? so much disappointment.
I prefer it. Organizer Pockets add weight, and the pockets are never sized for what I want to carry.
huge downgrade
How so?
