What is your Dream Cybersecurity Job?
I’m very surprised that the GRC analyst role is not on this list. I came into Cybersecurity as a Security Risk analyst with about 6 months of IT support experience. It’s documentation heavy but a good way to get your foot in the door.
Hey can you guide me, I am student and want to get it cybersecurity
@DaGAWD181 Good Point... Ill make sure and add it in the next video
@@TheBeardedITDad great! This was a informative video otherwise. Thank you
@@Blunebear try to get internship and learn as much as you can while being a student.
@DaGAWD181 Thank you
Which role doesn't required hard core coding Knowledge. Penetration Testing Or Cyber security analyst?
I am doing Pentesting. It doesn’t require coding that much.
😮 still deciding how to start, which is probably the hardest part. Just found out my company is willing to reimburse the cost of a cybersecurity bootcamp. Jist gotta come up with the up front money
Currently I’m working to pursue PCI DSS in the program I’m in which I believe is in GRC area. I’m wondering if this is good to start in
This was very helpful and gave me clarity on a few roles I was curious about. Thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much, I am very interested in cybersecurity, and didn’t know what to expect.
Glad it was helpful!
I am a prior Army medic current Police Officer and i just applied to go to college for cybersecurity. I have no computer background as of now. Is it beneficial to take additional certifications on top of college courses while in school vs waiting? This is a new world for me and your videos are helping massively.
It's great to hear that my videos are helping you navigate this new world of cybersecurity! Taking additional certifications while in college can definitely boost your skills and marketability in the field.
Hey mongo I’m the same way. And hold a Criminal justice degree, and completed a cybersecurity bootcamp. The problem is cybersecurity isn’t as entry as most say. I’ve been looking and non stop studying and haven’t had one interview so just be prepared to work hard on your job search once you are at that point.
I did had the same pathway. 68w to IT - get a foundation Certified Computer Technician- ITF or A+, the. I got the Sec +
@BURNSB1000 I've talked to several people in Cybersecurity that have suggested the same thing. So I have it planned out that by the time I graduate I should have all the additional certs to go with the degree.
I want to be a penetration tester is that the most competitive career path?
it is fairly competitive and normally requires 3-5 years of experience in the field.
Does anybody got a cybersecurity associate degree is it worth it?I'm 20 m I'm thinking of going back to school at a school called Columbia basin collge they have a cybersecurity program I was thinking of applying but not to sure I was wondering if it's worth it to get a cybersecurity associates degree also what would be some good certs
Not sure if you decided already but yes it’s worth it. Some certifications to go after would be sec+, Net+, cysa, google cybersecurity certification.
Hi TDad, I don't have any background knowledge in information but would love to have a career switch to cyber security. I only have a degree in English language. So please, what do I need to do? Where do I start? What cyber security course should I start with. Your honest answer will be appreciated
Some of your class can transfer over. But you still need to take the main course.
entry level means with no previous experience - these roles can be but you always mentioned experience. We need roles without it, otherwise how the hell are people supposed to get the experience? Thats more common problem in IT in general tho, not a critique of you.
Director level role in three years with no degree, no experience and no certifications???? Director of what??? Fantasyland???? Lol
Director of Network Operations
Great video very helpfull am also interested it in learning cyber security.
"Cyber-curity"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
brilliant video, opens my mind up to what is really out there, especially awareness training jobs
What’s your thoughts on AI when it comes the future within the field and etc?
I dont think AI is going to take anyone's jobs. I think the jobs will change and evolve but people willing to adapt will be most successful!
I’m surprised to see junior pentester on the list, there’s a very low chance to get a junior pentest job(no experience)without at least an OSCP/PNPT for where I’m at.
Just depends on the employer and area you live in.
Thank you form this video. The information here is extremely helpful. I do have a question that’s been on my mind, and I can’t find a lot of information on it. Does one need to take polygraph test to work in cybersecurity?
I also have this question wasn't cyber security paying bewtween 85k to 100k
Thanks a lot this is so helpful .
as a fresh graduate I don’t know where to start! Thanks
Your welcome
3:36 *nice dance moves!!!!*
He tryna discourage people they make way more
😵😵😵
I noticed that many of these entry level jobs you mentioned advance into Security Engineer.
Does that make Security Engineer a job with high requirements or entry? Or is it a job that's a jack of all trades (but master of none, although often better than a master of one)?
I intend to go into cyber from zero(Bsc in IT(privacy) Law prepped for the role of privacy officer), and complete THM learning paths including Security Engineer and SOC L1, and complete Comptia:s Sec+
Will this provide me with enough of a foundation to apply for an IT support or analyst job? Ill talk to the company that hires me about milestones to achieve for advancement of career, but I need an entry level job to begin with.

I need your help to land my first IT job
what do you need?
@TheBeardedITDad The fact you replied with what do you need shows how good of a dude you are.
Hello bro, I am a young man who is looking for his first certification to enter the IT world, I have seen several videos but I am not sure, I would like to know what you recommend, I was thinking of entering the networking area with CCNA. Sorry i use translator
If you have no experience I would start with CompTIA's A+ but if you feel comfortable dive in to the CCNA... Its a great networking cert.
😅
