Love it! its so gorgeous. If only it had magnetic body mounts, that would be icing on the cake for the body to not have mounting post holes. I hope Tamiya will make the 4x4 squared version as well.
very good entry class kit , cant wait to see the upgrade parts released cause that steering linkage and drive shaft need to be replace with metal , if you want more torque , just add gear reduction but chassis modification is needed
I'm a Tamiya fan but are they still using the battery connector from the 1980's? And, is that a NiMH?! I hope it's not Ni-Cad. And oh look! A brushed motor! You don't see those anymore (because we've evolved). Can you guys get with the program and switch to hex hardware already? It's looks like a very nice $50 RC.
No ball bearings? Almost all plastic parts? At least give us metal ladder frame? Tamiya: sure, why not! you will get those (by purchase expensive option parts, that will be slowly released in next couple years...)
This is too little too late from Tamiya. I really want to love it, and will certainly buy it because I'm a Tamiya nut - but this is a thinly veiled toy-grade RC compared to Axial, RC4WD, ARRMA, and even Traxxas.
And yet - Axial cars simply do not look as scale as this. All the wheels are too big. 🤷♂️ Body details are mediocre. RC4WD cars look pretty good. But ARRMA cars? They look absolutely hideous.
No one seen the less steering angle? And twerking of the body on the back? If you lock the diffs. I think you drive straight like a cc01 with and turning range of an 8x8.
I just had a look at Axial, and honestly I feel like their cars don't look as scale as this Tamiya. They all have wheels that are too large, and the body details are mostly "okay" at best. Maybe their chassis are better, but the overall look is not better.

昔、パジェロにトーヨー模型という模型屋さんの系列会社であるトーヨー企画という所からLP-20、LP-30というモーターが発売されおり、それを換装して走らせてました。
単純に言えば速度を抑えて走行時間を長くしたモーターなのですが、SUVモデルにうってつけのモーターでしたね。
最近はRCから離れていて分かりませんが、昔の様に1バッテリーで10分位の走行？LPシリーズは名前通り20から30分程度走行しました。
もし、そのモーターが今もあれば、このGクラスに搭載すると飽きるほど走らせる事が出来て楽しいかもしれません。
Tamiya has done an excellent job with the body. It looks so much better than the Traxxas one.

Beautiful RC car
CC-01シャシーに比べると、サスペンションの路面追従性が向上しているように見えます。リジッドと言えど可動範囲が増えたり、それを取り付けるシャシーそのものの剛性が向上しているのだと思います。CC-01はグリップの高い路面(特にアスファルト)などでは、コーナリング時に簡単にハイサイドを起こすことがあり、フロントはリンクロッドを加工したタワーバー、リヤはABS樹脂板を切り出した補強メンバーを追加したらハイサイドは消えました。つまり、シャシーが外力によって撚れていたということ。でもタミヤのRCは、こういう改造が結構手軽に出来ちゃう(プラなので)ところも魅力の一つ。あまり高性能すぎず、手を入れる余地が残ってたら更に楽しいでしょうね。買いまーす！(予約分は売り切れ続出)
CC-02でmuか、ダットサントラックとかブラットみたいなピックアップトラックが出たら即買いたいです！

It does look more capable than the CC-01 at least. But I think it could have been even further improved.

So why buy this when you can buy a axial or traxxas trx-4?
