The words before Chinchilla starts singing reminded me of so many people who get up, go to work, come home, crawl to bed...they've lost themselves...just operating in auto cruise mode.....its a different angle but hits...hard
@theguywithabow Your reference is pretty much a direct nod to the song "Mad World". The version Gary Jules did with the accompanying video perfectly depicts your reference.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I agree that the lyrics before Chinchilla's vocals begin are quite impactful and relatable to many people's experiences. May I ask for your name or how you would like to be referred to?
Thank you so much, Taz! I'm glad you enjoyed the song and the reaction. It's always a pleasure to connect with fellow music lovers, especially when we can appreciate the beauty and emotions that songs like this evoke. Sending much love right back to you from across the pond in England! Keep spreading the love for music. 🎶❤️
Thank you Lene, for your very heartfelt reaction! You make perfect sense. I have been following Ren since December 2022. I've watched many of Ren's videos Ren - Ren X Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines, Ren X Chinchilla - How to be me, Ren - Hi Ren, Ren - Sick Boi well you get the Idea! Many more...Great to be with you
Hey Stan! It's nice to see you're a big fan of Ren and have been following him for a while. I'm glad you enjoyed my reaction and found it heartfelt. It's always great to connect with others who share similar interests. Out of all the videos you've watched so far, do you have a particular favorite? Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! 😊👍
@Lene Larsen Hi Lene, that is somewhat difficult to answer, but because of the entirety of Ren's presentation and the profound effect it had on me I would say Ren - Hi Ren. Ren X Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines would be next, however both moved me. Thank you for asking! 😊
@@StanCarles I completely agree with you, Stan. Ren's music is truly profound and it's hard to choose just one favorite among all of his incredible songs. Each one has its own unique sound and message that speaks to us in different ways. "Hi Ren" is definitely a standout track with its catchy beat and memorable lyrics, but "Chalk Outlines" is equally moving with its haunting melody and powerful message. It's amazing how Ren is able to convey such depth and emotion through his music, and I am always in awe of his talent. Keep on listening and enjoying his music, and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
Holy shit. This is the best reaction to this song out there. Thank you so much for uploading this. it is so rare to find someone who understands what touched you so deeply when you first listened to a song. Once a song loses its strength on you sometimes the only option to try and feel what that song meant to you again is to look for reactions of it. You are the first person who truly brought me back to that place where I was able to feel this song anew. Thank you so much.
I am deeply moved by your comment! Thank you so much for spending that time, hearing my experience. I am very grateful that I could touch you in that way! It was my pleasure! Truly appreciate that! 💜
I'm glad I grew up enough at age 28 enough to allow myself to feel and express emotions. I have survived to 52 without the heart attack I was headed for. Allowing oneself to be authentically moved is brave and beautiful.
Everything passes, the good and the bad. So embrace the good times, knowing that it won't last forever & accept the hard times, knowing they also will pass. - Another way of describing the pendulum that Ren describes. Remembering past tough times, helps appreciate the good times we are in when we remember. The acceptance of the hard times and allowing them to pass, knowing they don't last forever is also likes Ren speaks of relaxing and softening. Reaching this point of being aware of this, is true growth and enables us to have the ability to cope better with all life throws at us. This also includes allowing ourselves to embrace vulnerability; all part of accepting our full selves. This is part of self-love. There are still tough times, though our awareness of all being temporary makes it all easier to cope/manage.
Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's so true that everything in life is temporary and we have to embrace the good times while they last and accept the hard times knowing they'll eventually pass. 🌅🌪️ It's also really important to remember our past struggles so we can appreciate the good times even more. And you're spot on about self-love and embracing vulnerability - it's all part of accepting ourselves fully. 🤗 We're lucky to have you in the community with such wise words! ❤️
Thank you for such a raw and honest reaction Lene. Ren's music reaches in to our souls and shows us how much we share as human beings. It is cathartic and healing, knowing we are not alone and it is okay to not be okay, that it is all part of the dance of life. All the best from the UK
Hello Phil! Thank you for your kind and considerate comment! He does really do that to us, huh! You say it so well... is okay to not be okay, that it is all part of the dance of life! Thank you for being here! Love to you, Phil!
Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Phil. I completely agree with your sentiments about Ren's music. It's incredible how he is able to tap into such deep emotions and experiences that are so universal. I think his music truly speaks to people in a way that is cathartic and healing, as you mentioned. Sending my best wishes to you from Norway .
Love that you mention all the hard work that must have gone into getting Ren to where he is today He is clearly talented but without all the busking, all the writing and all other work it would not be at the level he is at It probably goes towards battling depression as well We all just have to work, day by day to get well, get better or at least get by I dunno, I just think it is important that Ren is not just about talent, it is also a lot of work
Yes! I think it is important to remember that he is now gifted because he has had an intense passion and has been working on that passion immensely! He never gives up, and we are witnessing the results! Yes, I believe so. I however feel that I am actually gifted with my bipolar, even if it means that I have periods of depression. It teaches me a lot, and the periods I am not depressed I am immersed in life and really appreciate my life and my self!
Ren's story is worth looking into. His point of reference and inspiration are born in his health struggles. He has Lyme disease. Which went misdiagnosed for several years. Lyme attacks your immune system and leaves you in full body aches (especially one's joints) , you become allergic to a multitude of items, certain foods, chemicals, etc, will all cause pain and rashes, there are a variety of health issues will arise depending the trigger. At one point I believe the doctors told him that his brain was making him ill. When they did finally make the correct diagnosis it was too late to treat the lyme with traditional medicine. A doctor from California found one of his post and reached out to treat him with stem cell therapy. And that has allowed him to start becoming more active again, basically to have a life again. But Ren's messaging is open and universal. It may be inspired by his story but it relates to everyone. His songs mean what we need them to mean. And yes, Ren is an incredible talent. Keep going on your journey down the Ren rabbit hole... It is as surprising as it is incredible. He is what the world has been hungry for. Also his band The Big Push is incredible too.
Excellent reaction ! I cried with you. Your heartfelt words touched my heart. Ren is a genius. Love him ! Thank you for the great reaction. Big hug 🤗 !
Thank you Lene. Ren is something else. He makes me feels so much more then anyone else. I have never been depressed or been suffering in the ways Ren is talking about. But I have had a stroke and I have my own struggles. I feel his songs touches very deep even for me. I love your way to react to his music and your way to descibe the things you have had in your life. Big hugs and take care❤❤❤
I am glad to read you have not been depressed! Depression is not the only valid reason for suffering, and we all do struggle in our own individual ways! I am glad to read it touches you deeply too, he does really make us feel! And the thing I have noticed here is that the grand majority of people watching these reactions, at least on my channel, are male! That surprises me and warms my heart. Too many guys have a lot of suppressed feelings!
Much ❤ from 🇬🇧 this is a very moving song and the fact there both wearing white is a nod to being in an institution . as suggested in the comments another one to get you thinking is " how to be me " live with chinchilla.. sang from a rooftop and again with words which will hit the soul.
My pleasure!! Really. I hope that my life and experiences can be of value, and touch lives crossing time and borders! I have had so many people inspire and touch me, people that I never met... people who gracefully shared their wisdom and experience with strangers online, and I feel the time has come for me to be open and vulnerable and in my humblest ways offer my thoughts for inspiration for whom it may ressonate with!
Hauntingly beautiful. Very poignant. The more I hear Ren the more I fall in love with who he is. Talent like his is hard to find. Chinchilla is also a force to be reckoned with. Stunning tune. ❤️❤️
Thanks so much for sharing. I lost one of my best friends through depression. Hearing you talk is exactly the same as when we talked about it. It took a while for me to understand that I would never fully understand. I could just accept and support him as best as I could. When he took his life it was at a point at which we least expected it. He had never been in such a good mood. Perhaps because he finally decided, perhaps because he had become such a good actor. I will never know why. I still miss him every day. I just hope he found the peace he was looking for. I don't blame him. People say suicide is a selfish act, but the truth is he had been lviing his entire life putting so much energy into making other people happy and pretending (a lot of the time). I just know he really struggled with his meds, like probably a lot depressed people do. I do know that they can and do make a massive difference. Then again, for me it's easy to talk because I don't suffer from mental illness. So therefore, thank you very much for sharing such personal stories!
Thank you, Lene, for your heartfelt insights 🤗 Your words are so relatable, coming from someone else who has had struggles with mental wellbeing. I have also noticed other reactors not wanting to cry and have especially loved those who have had the courage to cry. Something in Ren's music is cathartic and I love that through the despair and heartbreak of his songs he's guiding us to where we might be repressing, or need to release, our own feelings. For me, that's why the reaction videos for his songs are so compelling. It sounds like you've been surrounded by a lot of sadness in your life and I can hear the strength and wisdom you've gained from your life journey. That too has been hard earned ❤ Im looking forward to more content and wishing you well from Scotland to beautiful Norway ❤
Hello Sandra. Thank you so much for your very kind and considerate words to me! I am glad that you could relate and feel into my experience. Not that I am glad anyone would struggle or suffer, but it feels good to see each other with some of the outer layers peeled away! I love myself a good cry sometimes, but I am generally not crying much when I am not depressed. I can get swept away by music and films though, and who knows, maybe it is just because there is also repressed feelings. I think it is also a very important skill to have empathy. I have had a lot of sadness... but also huge amounts of joy and life, excitement and energy. I believe that the contrasts in my life helps me gain wisdom! Thank you for being here! And again, thank you so much for your kind words! 💜

Heartfelt and beautiful reaction..try another song he did with Chinchilla ‘How To Be Me’ (Live Version) where he sings about his best friend who committed suicide
I love this song because it lets me skirt the edges of all the pain and confusion that I don't want to have to dive back into... it's like that sip of serotonin... I can scratch the itch of the feeling. Hell, I've been through that cycle.. I have fed my addiction to escape my disease, just to go past that tipping point and back into the psychosis. This song lets me sip from that, but it also shows me hoe happy I am to have been lucky enough to slip back outside of that rollercoaster.
So it seems like this song really hits home for you and has a lot of personal meaning. It's great that you've found a way to use it to touch on those tough emotions without getting sucked back into them. And it's awesome that it also reminds you of the good things in your life and how much progress you've made. Music can be so therapeutic and healing like that. Do you have any other favorite songs that have a similar effect on you? 🎶💭
Hi Roberto. The Subtitles should already be activated on default and I checked, they are. Maybe they were not working for the moment for a strange reason. Will you check again and let me know? Hugahug
Now then beautiful lady, music is the best form of therapy, so pick up that guitar and play something. The reason I say this, is that I was first diagnosed with depression at the age of 6, I am now 59 and still struggle every single day. I've had every pill. Done the therapy, even EMDR. The only thing that has ever dragged me out of my darkness is music. Listen to the likes of Estas Tonne on RUclips and set your mind free of darkness and demons. Sending love, healing and happiness x
Hey Ian! 😊 Thank you for your lovely message. I absolutely agree with you, Estas Tonne's music is incredible! 🎶 I've been a fan for a while now, and what I find particularly special about his music is how it can create a deep sense of relaxation and peace within me. His use of intricate finger-picking techniques, coupled with the gentle and hypnotic rhythms he creates, can be truly mesmerizing. 😌 I recently found out that he is from Ukraine, which I didn't know before. I always thought he was Spanish! 😅 And yes, playing the guitar is definitely therapeutic. 🎸 It's a great way for me to de-stress and take my mind off things when I'm having a tough day. In fact, guitar playing has turned many of my "ok" days into great ones! 😄 I started playing in January 2022 when I was going through a very intense period in my life, and it was one of the best decisions I've made. It's awesome that you've also had a positive experience with it. Once again, thank you for your kind words and for sharing your story. 🙏 Take care and keep spreading those good vibes! ✨
Could I suggest reading the passage titled "On Joy and Sorrow" from the book "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran? Just as you would comfort Ren, this 75-year-old American would comfort you. Take care 🙂
How beautiful and deep reaction Lene, Everybody is fragile, the difference is that some people know how to cover it up very well , like wearing a mask , while others like us, just cant have that mask on and we need to express our feelings. Difficult times makes us go deep into ourselfs and the better we know ourselfs , the better we can overcome to live this life as beautiful as we can meke it be. We are not cats, we have just 1 live, so why not make it worth it every second every hour every day , so when we get old , and before we die, we can proudly say ".. against all ods, I fucking made my life worth it, maybe I cryed and felt pain but at the end of the day I enjoyed every minute of it.."
What beautiful words! Thank you for sharing this with me and with us all! It is time to remove the masks. To some extent and in certain situations, the mask works for some purposes, but I believe it causes more harm than good! Let's do all we can to make it count for ourselves and the people in our world! 😘
Did you realize, he stopped the guitar, after the opening sentence, symbolizing the hope, by this break he could be someone else in the morning.
Beautiful reaction. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much, Jo! I'm really happy to hear that you found the reaction beautiful. Your support means a lot! 🙏💕

And yes, playing the guitar is definitely therapeutic.
Take care 🙂
Hi Dave! I would absolutely. Do you know if it is available online somewhere? Thank you so much for your kind words! 💜
wait til you hear 'How to be me' ...
Added to the reactions-list! ;) :)
