    I used to have a Tornado 2 with a 582 on it. The most fun plane I’ve ever owned. Cessna 172, Citabria and a Grumman Yankee. That Yankee was a lot of fun too

    Finally! someone who made some actual numbers for this plane. I've always been curious as to the performance of this plane configuration and setup with the 100 hp ULS. Never could find an actual review only published numbers, but those always seem to be embellished slightly in my opinion. A full aircraft flight review would be a useful video to make in the future. Many people considering this type of plane and setup including passenger loading and space in the rear seat would probably find it valuable. Thank you.

      Thanks for the great feedback! I agree with you completely, not near enough hard facts on this great little plane. I will be posting more informational videos in the future to try and help out those of you who may be considering buying a Tornado. Thanks again for the feedback!

      The Tornado is a great little plane! The best things would be the view, sporty handling, climb, short field performance, and low operating cost! Lots of bang for your buck in my opinion. The negatives would be the lack of space for a passenger primarily with this D model, and storage space also when carrying a passenger. For these resons I would definitely recommend buying the S or SS model. Hope this helps.

    The owner of this plane was just in a bad crash and was killed. Christopher Bailey was his name they think he possibly stalled it. So sad.

    Mike what is your cruise speed at 75% throttle and say 4500 msl. How big is the fuel tank? Gord.

    • @Michael112233able
      @Michael112233able  6 лет назад +2

      105 MPH IAS at 4500 MSL. with the 100 hp Rotax 912ULS. This Tornado has a 15 gal fuel tank. At 4.6 GPH you have around 3.2 hrs unti flameout.

      What would be a typical take off distance and rate of climb?

    • @Michael112233able
      @Michael112233able  6 лет назад +1

      Gord Rose
      So many factors dictate but Takeoff distance is typically around 400 to 500 feet using normal technics off pavement and climb rate is pretty much 1000 to 1500 fpm. I have done many cross country flights at 8500 msl. Plentiful power!

    I found one of these for sale. $10k 43 hours on A&E. Is that a good price? I've never flown before but I want to get started

      First, thanks for your comment. Second, it’s impossible for me to say if $10K is a good deal without looking at the plane in person. Generally the Tornadoes are worth around the mid 20s for the D models and near 30 for the S and SS models. It all depends on what engine is installed and what sort of avionics, really is a big variation in price on these things!
      A few very important things to consider when buying an experimental aircraft like the Titan Tornado. First question would be, how much build experience did the builder have? There should be build logs available for you to view, and if your lucky, pictures.
      I would say that the Tornado would make a good first plane but you will need to get a minimum of a Sport Pilot Certificate in order to fly the Tornado. You will need to get that training in a SLSA or in a conventional STD aircraft like a Cessna, than be transitioned to the Tornado preferably with someone who has a fair bit of experience in type. I could go on for quite some time on this subject but I really hope this helps you out!

      @@Michael112233able thank you for the information you provided, it has been helpful toward me deciding what to do. It looks like a great deal of fun, but maybe beyond what a first time flyer should have. I live at (07S) and have a lot of open fields and a grass air strip in case of an emergency landing, but I think I'll ask one of the local pilots for lessons . Thank you for the video demonstrating what the Tornado is capable of. Your video has been one of the funnest to watch so far. The lift at takeoff was excellent!
