      Thanks and we travelled early spring (Mid-April) and the snow was mostly in the villages up in the Jungfraujoch, but it was still beautiful. Too bad we didn't see a lot of scenery as there was snow and clouds, so I would suggest to go here around Summer but the CONS of that is the prices are too high during Summer. Hope this helps!

    A very good summary of your trip. Thanks!. After spending a week in Vienna and Salzburg, We will be in Switzerland from Aug 20 to Sep4. We plan to stay for 4 days in Stans about 23 mins by train from Lucerne as a base for day trips to cover Mt. Pilatus, Titlis, Stanserhorn, Mt Rigi and Lucerne city. Its going to be a busy and tough routine and want to get the best bang for our buck. Then we are proceeding to Thun for the remaining 11 nights. We chose as base in Thun for day trips from there the reason being the accommodation was cheaper and places of our interest were central from there. We should be able to get to I/Laken in about 25-30 mins. The day trips from Thun are to Geneva, Bern, Zurich (cover Rhine Falls), do a day trip on Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz (already reserved our seat for Aug 27), visit Grindelwald First, Lauterbrunnen valley, spend 2/3 days in I/laken area to cover Iseltwald, visit Aare river Gorge, Schynigge platte, and couple of other mountain rides and whatever we can accommodate in that time period. its a tall order and task. we will be getting a 15 day Swiss travel pass and hope will get the full benefit of our ticket. will return back to US from Zurich.

      @@paayelagarwaal8766 - I will be staying in Thun city about 5 min walk to the Thun train station / Bus stop / Ferry terminal. Its in a Air BnB with a view of the river from the balcony. There are trains that take you to I/Laken in about 25 -30 mins. You can also take a bus or the Ferry to reach I/L. For my 11 nights stay i couldn't find a continuous stay in I/L, in one place, and didnt want to move from place to place every 4 days and waste time checking in and out. I prefer to stay close to the train station and Thun seemed reasonable for most of my activities (some longer trip some shorter). Accommodations are a little cheaper than I/L and still in the $130 and above with weekly discount. My 4 day stay @ Stans covers Lucerne (25 min by train), and closer to Mt Titlis, Pilatus, & Stanserhorn (right there in Stans). Lucerne is pretty pricey and I was lucky to find this in Lucerne 10 min walk to Stans train station. Hope the info helps, aur Aap ka trip Bahuth Safal, manoranjan aur kaamyaag rahe.

    Hi which pass did you take in these days . Half fare or Bernese

    • @franzfabiana
      @franzfabiana  Месяц назад

      We didn't have any pass except for EURAIL pass that we used for inter-country and inter-city travel in EU. I would recommend the Swiss Half-fare card though if you plan to do a lot of excursions especially in the Jungfrau mountains, or better the Bernese Oberland pass if you can afford it but for us since we have an infant and a Senior, it wasn't cost effective for us since we didn't do a lot of travelling in the Jungfrau region.
