- Known as “The Pearl of Punjab”, Lahore is the second largest metropolitan area in the country and an important historical center in South Asia. This city has a rich history which dates back over a millennium and it is the main cultural center of the Punjab province and Pakistan. A city rich in history and culture is bound to have their own traditional delicacies and it is now time to explore with Chef Saadat.

My grandfather once told me a common saying among Punjabi households that- "Jihne Lahore nai wekhya, oh jammeya hi nai". At that time I did not understand why he used to praise Lahore so much. But now after learning about the city and it's heritage and also watching videos like this one, I can well imagine why he used to say so. He had lived in Lahore(before partition) and had many stories to tell about it. I wish I also get to visit Lahore someday. Nice job guys. Love from India.

I was born in America but I am Pakistani, recently I went to Lahore and I completely agree with your grandfather. In fact i posted a picture on snapchat with the same quote. Lahore is truly magical. I wish one day all south asians could get along quite well with no problems. I am punjabi too and i think our culture is very welcoming. The manners and culture of south asians is something to be cherished. Much love guys!!

My best friend here in toronto is from Karachi. I am eager to see lahore and karachi with him and enjoy street food which so similar like india.
just make sure u r not vegetarian, not a lot of vegetarian options popular in pakistan especially in lahore. street food is similar esp in karachi due to large indian migrant population, lahore is similar but very different at the same time. hope u get to see both cities soon :)

+tdot22 actually I live in downtown Manhattan, and I just had dinner in Harlem last night at my favorite soul food restaurant. Harlem is now a high real estate district bro. There are NO no go districts in the United States. Newwark is run down but and not as expensive but there is a police presence there.

actually we aren't, only some Punjabis in India have any kind of connection to Punjabis of Pak (but not with others), nearly 100% of Pakistan has nothing to do with nearly 100% of India in terms of ethnic groups.

lahore is the place of foods and educational institution thats why u will see students everywhere ..
This is not the way of making lahori channa
Leave chana over night in water, water should be 3 times more than channa and with baking soda please put more baking soda than usual, left it for over night
Now boil the chaana with moti lachi and daal cheni for atleast 3 to 4 hour in slow to medium heat because we want to mangal the channa
Wait until they get very thick and start to break them it self
Now take another fry pan put alot of oil than normal i gues nearly twice fair amount of onion i think on is ok
Than salt and chilli dry coriander and garam masala fry for 10 to 15 mint than put in chana stir for while than put balck pepper and mustard stir for while turn off gas
And your channa is ready
