What if i prepare opti rest toolpath with a sharp edged end mill, in this case no corner radius exists in tool thats why i could not be able to mark on ignore small cusp. For this case should i make a boundary to control opti rest toolpath?
Learned something again. Lets see if I can teach you. Did you know that you can right or left click on individual tool paths to open verify or back plot? Click where it says tool path. I know it saves very little motion with your mouse, but I find it useful.
That is a great tip! I did know about this, although I don't use it much but only because my muscle memory has me going to those other icons. I heard about it in a webinar not too long ago, Jay Kramer brought it up...I don't remember the context of the webinar but I do remember him mentioning this. My mind was blown having used Mastercam for so long and seeing this super useful function for the first time. Since it wasn't that long ago, that's why I'm still yet to adapt to it lol. Some good information here, I am about to start making this part. One thing that concerns me with your set up is flipping it over to take off the rest of the stock material. How did you plan to control the Z offset accurately? Seems to me opp1 would be to machine the 0.197 base first and then flip over to grip on that surface to machine the top features.
Been meaning to continue on with this part in the videos, just been sidetracked lately. For side 2 its pretty straight forward. You don't even have to use an offset if you don't want to. You could manually face the part to thickness. If you prefer to use an offset, measure the part to get an idea of how much extra stock their is. Compensate for that in your Z offset for side 2. I would even stay slightly above that until you make a cut and can take a measurement. From there, just dial in your offset based on your measurements.
@@CamInstructor While I agree this "could" be done if you made a pair of softjaws to locate from the 135 degree surfaces, making sure the stock is flat without them is going to be a pain. I found it much easier to machine the 2.80" x 1.88" base 0.300" deep in the the raw material then flip it. relocate center of stock and Z from the surface of the base you just machined, then run the other features, staying 0.100" up from the bottom of that machined base. Even on a Tormach 1100M I was within 0.001" in Z and 0.002 in X and Y. Running all those features that are +/-0.005", and a 0.002" depth cut on the C-bore, from a rough stock surface is a good way to have a bad part. I get you are just showing tool paths creation in your CAM but some people might be using this to actually try to pass their QC requirements. Also just FYI they have changed this to Rev 6 Since you started making your videos and that little island in the bore feature has been removed. Not sure if there are other changes as I didnt actually get a Rev 5 model/print.

Perhaps once I get to that part in the videos it will make more sense. The processes shown will make a good part 100% of the time. I'm not just showing toolpaths, I'm showing how the part should be programmed and machined to make a good part.
Yes. I think there has been a revision to this part, so that in itself would be a good next step in the series. Only issue is Xometry can be a trigger for some. I get some hate and accusations of promoting with these videos...I get the argument on both sides, just don't want to be on either side so I've been reluctant to make more here.

I didn't see you click any solid at 2nd toolpath opti rough with 1/4 endmill so how that work and how is called. Thank you
The right click option for selecting all remaining material, its a new feature for 2022.
is there an Helical cutting feature in Mastercam?
Yes! There is a toolpath called Helical Bore and there are other tooplaths that can be used to obtain this motion.
