As a Submariner for the US Navy, Songs like these hit home pretty hard. It's hard going under the waves during the holiday. For others in the "Silent Service" keep strong and may the waves bring you home.

KathyW2200 My class uses it for warming up for both softshoe and hardshoe (dunno if that's what light and heavy mean, b/c I do noncompetitive), and everyone loves it. I was actually the first one to ask in my class, lol
supercookie20 Cool! Yes, light and heavy is soft shoe and hard shoe, respectively. My school is non-competitive-good to hear of others out there. Non-competitive Irish is very rare and much looked-down-upon where I live.

We saw the cliffs and houses, and the breakers running high,
And the coastguard in his garden, his glass against his eye
The frost was on the village roofs as white as ocean foam
The good red fires were burning bright in every 'longshore home
The windows sparkled clear, and the chimneys volleyed out
And I vow we sniffed the victuals as the vessel went about
The bells upon the church were rung with a mighty jovial cheer
For it's just that I should tell you how (of all days in the year)
This day of our adversity was blessed Christmas morn,
And the house above the coastguard's was the house where I was born
And well I knew the talk they had, the talk that was of me
Of the shadow on the household and the son that went to sea
And O the wicked fool I seemed, in every kind of way
To be here and hauling frozen ropes on blessed Christmas Day

Your bass singer is so goddamned talented, and of all your songs, I think this one showcases that the best. Such great ping/clarity of sound and carrying strength while being down that low isn't a small feat. You all are incredible singers, but as someone who also lives in the bass-ment of all my vocal ensembles, I gotta show some mad respect to this performance.
