Fun fact, for the death egg robot you can literally just stay under the robot's feet and keep hitting it from under, since the legs don't count as sprites that can actually harm you in any way.
These are some of the most creative boss fights I've seen in the platforming genre. This game shows that there's still potential in these types of games.

Spiny Justspiny Metropolis was fucking Hell, and most of my Game Overs in Sonic 2 are from Wing Fortress. To this day, I especially hate Wing Fortress; if you make even the slightest slip-up in it, you're screwed.

You're really overselling it. It's using a very weak AI and it still follows PP1 rules, meaning there's no offset rule. A 3-4 chain is fast to set up and enough to kill such a passive opponent. Even against aggressive AI in PP1, you can win in 20ish seconds if you drop and build quick enough. The addition of offset in PP2 onward completely changed the pace and nature of the game; but that wasn't present for the MBM and Kirby's Avalanche as both are based on PP1. Rounds of PP1 should be over in less then half a minute at most, which would be way faster than most of these boss fights look due to how cycle based they appear to be.

A guy live streamed Knuckles' story yesturday. The Mirage Saloon Act 1 Boss is the giant Caterkiller but underground (Like the underground act 2 boss in Marble Garden) and the Lava Reef Act 2 Boss is the main Heavy guy (Like Mecha Sonic's fight). He even uses the Master Emerald to attack too!
It's gonna be another Generations game with Lost World style dialogue. The 3d stages will be full of 2d sections despite this game coming out because modern 3d Sonic gameplay is too expensive to make a full game by itself. The levels will probably work and there probably won't be major glitches and it'll be over all mediocre in general. Most likely a 6 or 7 out of 10. Whoopee...
Most likely Forces will be fine, it's like sonic generations and that game was received pretty well. During E3 Forces got positive reception, so things are looking up.

The Green Hill boss, is well, the final boss of Sonic 2 (although heavily modified) The Chemical Plant miniboss is based off the Ice Cap miniboss in Sonic 3. The Chemical Plant boss is well, Mean Bean Machine. The Flying Battery miniboss is loosely based off the barrier miniboss (before the crushing wall up to the Hang-Mobile) in Sonic and Knuckles' Flying Battery. The Stardust Speedway miniboss is based off of how in Sonic CD, before the final boss in Metallic Madness, you had to defeat 3 Hotarus. The Stardust Speedway boss is Metal Sonic, but its second phase has Silver Sonic from Game Gear Sonic 2. And the third phase (after update 1.04) is fought similarly to the Greater Egg-Robo in Sonic and Knuckles. The Hydrocity miniboss is where you're in the machine used in the Hydrocity boss from Sonic 3, and you have to attack Eggman using it. The Hydrocity boss, of course, uses the same fight as the Hydrocity miniboss in Sonic 3. The Mirage Saloon miniboss as Knuckles is the same as the Gigapolis boss in Sonic Chaos. The Mirage Saloon boss brings back Bark, Bean, and Fang from Sonic the Fighters. The Oil Ocean miniboss is like the Mushroom Hill miniboss from Sonic and Knuckles. The Oil Ocean boss is a harder version of Sonic 2's Oil Ocean boss. The Lava Reef miniboss is based off of the Marble Garden miniboss from Sonic 3. The Lava Reef boss Heavy Rider rides a motobug named Jimmy. This is a nice tribute to Polygon Jim, who made Sonic ROM hacks where you would play as a motobug. He sadly died in a car crash. The Heavy King boss is based off of the final boss of Sonic and Knuckles while playing as Knuckles, where Mecha Sonic would go on the Master Emerald to attain a super transformation, and you had to hit him when he had to charge his Super again. Heavy King does the same, but the fight is 10 times easier because he's vulnerable while attacking. The Metallic Madness miniboss is based off the Sonic 1 final boss, and would be a harder version, but now you got rings. The Metallic Madness boss has gachapon capsules of mini Marble Zone and Emerald Hill bosses from Sonic 1 and 2, respectively. The third type of gachapon capsule, the Amy robot, is a reference to Tails Doll from Sonic R. The Titanic Monarch miniboss is based off of the Death Egg miniboss from Sonic and Knuckles. The first phase is identical in every way besides it being lower so Knuckles can hit it. The second phase is different, though. The Titanic Monarch boss is based off of a scrapped design for Sonic CD's final boss. Probably not intentional, but the Klepto-Mobile in Egg Reverie Zone somewhat resembles Big Arms from Sonic 3. I got confused when I saw the Death Egg Robot as the first Eggman boss. I thought it would be the last. Little did I know the actual final boss was in the control module of an even BIGGER Death Egg Robot.
Fun fact: In the team hooligan boss, you can hear the ring loss sound effect from the Master System and Game Gear Sonic games ! And in phase 2 of the Metal Sonic battle, he sends out Silver Sonics that look like the ones in Sonic 2 Master System and Game Gear ! They also make sounds from the 8 bit games.
Manias bosses reminded me that I love how quirky and interesting Eggmans machines were. Now it feels like he builds the same giant machine with the same powers over and over
@@gasterthemaster6490 At least the ruby-powered DER in Forces was more of a threat. Maybe just a little more menacing, but enough that it required three different types of attacks to defeat. Most of Eggman's mechs can be defeated with just one fighting approach.

one thing i noticed is that it's not really sure if the hard boiled heavies are destroyed with the exception of Heavy King perhaps but otherwise it looks like they escaped and seeing as Mania is pretty much a Sister game to Forces the hard boiled heavies could return in Forces as boss fights again or perhaps in a future Sonic games i mean i doubt they would drop them after one game knowing Sega just wanted to point that out.

I doubt the Hard Boiled Heavies survived. They were modified into the Phantom Heavies and were integrated into the Titan Monarch. The Phantom King was destroyed by Super Sonic while the others were destroyed when the Titan Monarch self-destructed.

A guy live streamed Knuckles' story yesturday. The Mirage Saloon Act 1 Boss is the giant Caterkiller but underground (Like the underground act 2 boss in Marble Garden) and the Lava Reef Act 2 Boss is the main Heavy guy (Like Mecha Sonic's fight). He even uses the Master Emerald to attack too!

Seeing that this game is impressively good, it leaves me curious on how Sonic Forces is gonna turn out.
The boost games have all been good, with Unleashed only being divisive because of the Werehog. Forces will at least be as good as Colors.

It's gonna be another Generations game with Lost World style dialogue.
The 3d stages will be full of 2d sections despite this game coming out because modern 3d Sonic gameplay is too expensive to make a full game by itself.
The levels will probably work and there probably won't be major glitches and it'll be over all mediocre in general.
Most likely a 6 or 7 out of 10.

The Green Hill miniboss is based off of Sonic 1's Green Hill boss.
The Green Hill boss, is well, the final boss of Sonic 2 (although heavily modified)
The Chemical Plant miniboss is based off the Ice Cap miniboss in Sonic 3.
The Chemical Plant boss is well, Mean Bean Machine.
The Flying Battery miniboss is loosely based off the barrier miniboss (before the crushing wall up to the Hang-Mobile) in Sonic and Knuckles' Flying Battery.
The Stardust Speedway miniboss is based off of how in Sonic CD, before the final boss in Metallic Madness, you had to defeat 3 Hotarus.
The Stardust Speedway boss is Metal Sonic, but its second phase has Silver Sonic from Game Gear Sonic 2. And the third phase (after update 1.04) is fought similarly to the Greater Egg-Robo in Sonic and Knuckles.
The Hydrocity miniboss is where you're in the machine used in the Hydrocity boss from Sonic 3, and you have to attack Eggman using it.
The Hydrocity boss, of course, uses the same fight as the Hydrocity miniboss in Sonic 3.
The Mirage Saloon miniboss as Knuckles is the same as the Gigapolis boss in Sonic Chaos.
The Mirage Saloon boss brings back Bark, Bean, and Fang from Sonic the Fighters.
The Oil Ocean miniboss is like the Mushroom Hill miniboss from Sonic and Knuckles.
The Oil Ocean boss is a harder version of Sonic 2's Oil Ocean boss.
The Lava Reef miniboss is based off of the Marble Garden miniboss from Sonic 3.
The Lava Reef boss Heavy Rider rides a motobug named Jimmy. This is a nice tribute to Polygon Jim, who made Sonic ROM hacks where you would play as a motobug. He sadly died in a car crash.
The Heavy King boss is based off of the final boss of Sonic and Knuckles while playing as Knuckles, where Mecha Sonic would go on the Master Emerald to attain a super transformation, and you had to hit him when he had to charge his Super again. Heavy King does the same, but the fight is 10 times easier because he's vulnerable while attacking.
The Metallic Madness miniboss is based off the Sonic 1 final boss, and would be a harder version, but now you got rings.
The Metallic Madness boss has gachapon capsules of mini Marble Zone and Emerald Hill bosses from Sonic 1 and 2, respectively. The third type of gachapon capsule, the Amy robot, is a reference to Tails Doll from Sonic R.
The Titanic Monarch miniboss is based off of the Death Egg miniboss from Sonic and Knuckles. The first phase is identical in every way besides it being lower so Knuckles can hit it. The second phase is different, though.
The Titanic Monarch boss is based off of a scrapped design for Sonic CD's final boss.
Probably not intentional, but the Klepto-Mobile in Egg Reverie Zone somewhat resembles Big Arms from Sonic 3.

I got confused when I saw the Death Egg Robot as the first Eggman boss. I thought it would be the last. Little did I know the actual final boss was in the control module of an even BIGGER Death Egg Robot.
Fun fact: In the team hooligan boss, you can hear the ring loss sound effect from the Master System and Game Gear Sonic games ! And in phase 2 of the Metal Sonic battle, he sends out Silver Sonics that look like the ones in Sonic 2 Master System and Game Gear ! They also make sounds from the 8 bit games.

At least the ruby-powered DER in Forces was more of a threat. Maybe just a little more menacing, but enough that it required three different types of attacks to defeat. Most of Eggman's mechs can be defeated with just one fighting approach.

one thing i noticed is that it's not really sure if the hard boiled heavies are destroyed with the exception of Heavy King perhaps but otherwise it looks like they escaped and seeing as Mania is pretty much a Sister game to Forces the hard boiled heavies could return in Forces as boss fights again or perhaps in a future Sonic games i mean i doubt they would drop them after one game knowing Sega just wanted to point that out.
Mr Josef419 umm, hello? Sonic forces is a SEQUEL, A FLIPPING SEQUEL! wich means that Sonic forces is basically Sonic Mania 2, but with Modern Sonic, now I wonder if they're going to make a sequel to forces...
I doubt the Hard Boiled Heavies survived. They were modified into the Phantom Heavies and were integrated into the Titan Monarch. The Phantom King was destroyed by Super Sonic while the others were destroyed when the Titan Monarch self-destructed.
I never thought i'd say this but the "elevator boss" looked very fun.
