I'm so glad I found this video. I was up in a full blown anxiety/panic attack over the ringing in my ear until 5am this morning. I was finally able to calm my nerves a bit after watching you. Its been less than 24 hours but the ringing hasn't subsided at all. I'm still very anxious and I can't stop thinking about it. I felt like I was actually deaf immediately following the concert, never again....never again. I hope this goes away.
+Scott Cunningham I know those feelings of extreme anxiety. If it was one of the first exposures, chances are very high that it will soon be a distant memory, but there is nothing that can be done to rush the process. Try to relax and not get into a loop of constant worrying.
Wow, funny how this video was released 10 days before my concert incident happened. I've had Tinnitus for about 5 months now, and even though I'm pretty sure it's permanent now, this video really helped comfort me just now. Keep it up man, you're the greatest.
Slavic Warrior Indeed I do, but since then it's degraded from a screeching pitch to soft static and I've come to terms with it so it doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore
god bless 🙏 i went to my first concert tonight and i'm regretting not using my earphones to protect myself lmao, especially since i'm sensitive to noise 😭 now i know how important it is for next time. cheers for the video!
Just going through a tinnitus phase at the moment - I think it will pass - but you got the frequency of the white noise just right to cancel it out. Very soothing. Thanks.
I need such a video for general bad days. You‘re a gem. This helped me SO much. After 3-5 days my earhumm went away but I never forgot about this video.
Went to my first concert years ago, didn't think to use those disposable earplugs they give out for free. Had tinnitus for three days straight! Didn't make that same mistake again.
Glad I saw this video, because I'm going to a concert tomorrow. I'll be further back though and I was gonna wear earplugs anyway because I've never been great with really loud situations, but this is good to know and the description is useful. Wish me luck.
So comforting 😊 Thanks for this vid. 6th day after crappy concert (outside) and I'm hearing old tv sound. It varies throughout the day. Best advice I've seen online and here is to not freak out about it. Just go about your day. I'm 35 amd have rarely gone out but when I did, I went hard. Ughh. It gets loud at night but at least I can sleep. Sunday it started sudden out of nowhere. (day after band I saw) I was mortified cause my mom has it bad and it drives her nuts. 😣 Anyhoo, thanks man. You're awesome and I hope you're doing good!
It's definitely easy to freak out when this happens, but things should improve over time. I'm glad that I could help you relax, and I hope that it fades away completely soon.
Awesome video brother! you should definitely do a "New band member roleplay" Our band is about to play live for an amazing crowd but for the mean time you're comforting the new member of the band backstage along with the other members. You guy's make the new member feel at ease. (Dont be scared of the crowd they're your energy source) Help the new member adjust to the ways of your band and the crowd. This is just a thought! \m/
here's a few ideas for treating tinnitus naturally Make sure you consume enough fruit and vegetables. Make sure you have enough vitamin C make use of herbs which cleanse the body eg dandelion make use of herbs with infection fighting properties eg myrrh and burdock and others including echinacea (I discovered these and why they work from Dajon Ear Relief website )
Thank you for this. Knowing how well you understand how awful it is to have tinnitus, and your comforting tone and words, are helping me feel better. My tinnitus is a permanent side-effect of a middle ear infection I had almost four years ago in my left ear. In the last year, it's gradually gotten worse, especially within the last month. I have several high-pitched tones, and the friggin' icing on the cake is that my right ear randomly decided to have tinnitus tonight. I am hoping that this new sound is not permanent. :( I'm not sure how I am going to sleep.
+Erin Panto Hello Erin, it can be terrible when the anxiety takes over. I am hoping that your right ear has already stopped causing trouble! Last summer, my ear became infected and was extremely painful for an entire week. Nature has a way of making mischief constantly in our lives, but we can't let things like that get us down too much!
I'm certainly trying. Unfortunately, the ringing is still happening in both ears. Ugh. The otologist said my hearing test was normal for the right side, so I'm hoping it's just stress-related and that it will go away. I'm thinking about trying TRT, but I'm sure it's very expensive. Anyway, thanks so much for your reply and for your video!
Hey man I've had tinnitus for about 3 days now after a concert. Honestly pretty worried. I'm only 18 but I've been to a few concerts, and my ears have rung a little but never this badly or for this long. It's gotten a little better since it started but its not getting better very quickly. It's very gradual. I've watched your video a bunch of times because its keeping me from having anxiety attacks. Pretty scared right now. Do you think it will go away? Or at least be so unnoticeable that it doesn't bother me? Also I don't shoot or anything, I go to concerts probably every 4-6 months. I have never worn ear plugs but I definitely will now for the rest of my life.
Jacob Lizotte I think you'll be fine since you've not had too many exposures to loud concerts. Wait it out another week and I'm pretty sure you'll be back to normal. The anxiety can be terrible, but it will go away. And, since you're a musician it's especially important to protect your hearing. Without earplugs I would have a week of paranoia and discomfort after every loud exposure. It's just not worth the damage - and your music sounds great btw!
Thanks for responding, I woke up this morning and it sounded significantly quieter. I think it's on it's way out now, it should be gone completely in the next day or two I'm guessing. But yeah it can make you paranoid, and if you focus on it hard enough the sound can seem so much louder then it really is. Glad you liked my music!
Very slightly if I'm listening hard for it. It doesn't bother me at all though. I don't mind it. I always wear ear protection at concerts and my life is totally normal just like before.
You are awesome man first concert I've ever gone that my ears have gotten like this even during the show I had to walk away for a bit because I could feel it. But I don't go to concerts that often maybe twice or at most 3 times a year
Yeah I'm gonna try to get those musician ear plugs I'm assuming those still protect pretty good cus I still wanna be able to listen to the music pretty well
+Demiigodd At really high volumes, it always sounds better (to me) with earplugs, because the different frequencies are balanced. If the person mixing the band has the highs or lows set too high, everything is either too shrill or too boomy. It's really easy to set the highs too high and it takes a careful hand to back them off just enough for a good mix.
+DalesDiscourse yeah I know, last show sounded like there was way too much bass although on video it sounds fine lol, but I was wondering if it was really worth it getting those musician like earplugs that balance everything or just getting regular ones like the ones you showed on this video.... I know one time I tried putting on earbuds(headphones) for like listening to music and I kinda didn't like how everything sounded more faraway or something...
I got tinnitus and I've had it for an unknown amount of time now probably a couple years and I didn't know it was tinnitus until recently and the first week I knew I had it that's all I could think about was tinnitus. I believe I got it from listening to music with headphones almost all the way up for hours on end and I don't really go over the level that gives you the warning anymore unless it's unusually quiet and what really sucks is I'm 14 I should've listened to the warning your phone gives you and now I have permanent hearing damage
Just keep trying to avoid future damage. Wait long enough and your body will hopefully heal itself & it won't bother you anymore. I think it's important to not keep layering on more damage, it seems to make any gains go away.
Luke Lacy Yea that's how I feel now too, it's not a big deal. Almost everyone has some damage so it just comes down to avoiding the worst situations. Thanks for watching.
So i didnt go to a concert nor have been to a concert and have had tinnitus for a year now. It only happens every couple days though especially in the winter like this.
For anyone who has tinitus it's gonna be alright, to get better and to get the sound to calm down you have to calm down your self so that your nervous system can stop hearing your brain transmitting the sound. I am not selling or advertising anything but I really recommend looking at Julian Hills RUclips channel, he really helped me understand it and he defiantly knows what he is talking about. His channel basically says that tinnitus feeds off your stress and worry which is why when you worry about it it seems louder and worse, so don't worry and try to watch his videos and calm your mind and body down.
Try to relax & in a few weeks I hope that your misery is a distant memory. In my experience it has always gone away with time. Of course it takes much longer with cumulative damage, so be careful of decibel levels in bars / clubs / movies, etc.
DalesDiscourse do you feel like in your experience it gradually gets better? Because i feel like I’m noticing it less and I keep checking because I’m unsure if i can even hear it anymore. So is that a sign it’s going away?
Literally went to see Slipknot 2 days ago. My dad said to try and avoid getting too close cos tinnitus might get me the day after. Of course, I didn't listen. Fuck. Tinnitus is a dick.
DalesDiscourse i got tinnitus recently and ive had it for weeks, and it didnt happen cuz of a concert or loud noise, it just happened! do you think i should wait and it will go away????
+DalesDiscourse Thanks for your quick reply. the reason I am asking is because I have been to a considerable amount of concerts without protection so I'm worried about whether or not its natural or I caused it. I have a lot of anxiety about this. :(
+Sal Palladino I've known the same anxiety. It can be terrible and maddening. In the modern world, it's impossible to avoid every damage-causing situation. The only thing to do is wait it out and try to relax. Also, avoid compounding the problem by going to bars, loud restaurants, sporting events, movie theaters, etc. without earplugs. It might take awhile, but eventually it should go away entirely or (in my case) fade to such a low level that it doesn't bother you anymore. But you have to be diligent. For example, I would never go to the movies without earplugs now, because I would be sitting on the couch afterwards feeling dumb and waiting a few days for the ringing to go away.
DalesDiscourse I've noticed this for a few years now. I no longer listen to music at ridiculously loud levels, and I no longer go to concerts without hearing protection now. I'm just wondering if what I'm experiencing (ringing in quiet environments) is normal, or that I did it to myself. Some people I ask say they have it too and others look at me like I'm crazy.
+Sal Palladino I'm not entirely sure, since I've also destroyed my hearing at concerts! But my guess is that it will keep fading away over time, although it could take awhile. Remember, too, that it happens with aging, so it's just a natural part of the design of the body and everyone will encounter it eventually.
I almost always have one headphone in for a long time almost every day, and now I’ve noticed that really late at night that ear makes a “woooosh” noise. Now I’ve been afraid that this is permanent.
Hey man, I really appreciate you making this video. I've been to concerts before and I' but the venues have always been outside. The ringing would only last me till the next day if anything. I recently went to a concert on the 9th but the venue was indoors this time and now the ringing has lasted since today. It is slowly going down though so hopefully by next week it will be gone. But i've been staying off from listening to my ipod. Would it be safe to use my ipod again?
TheCowpiie Just keep the ipod volume reasonable - You can see how concert damage adds up (and gets worse). I think you'll be fine, but use protection at future shows!
I've had tinnitus for about 7 years now and it's really bad at the moment. Also had sudden partial deafness in my left ear for a few days now but i feel like it's slowly getting better. Maybe...I dunno.
SDMF20 I like to think about the fact that a huge number of people have the same problem. It's a huge emotional burden, but a part of life in today's society. I try to stay in quiet surroundings pretty much 24/7.
Every week or so I switch moods, & I have to sit in traffic a lot for my job, so I always have my ipod loaded with many different genres. Every once in a while I listen to the new batch of dance & hip-hop radio singles and usually enjoy at least a few of those, but these days I'm mostly listening to Game of Thrones audiobooks at work.
Ah excellent! A diversity of genres is much better than just sticking to one. I like a bit of everything myself, and the Game of Thrones audiobooks are a great idea for long car journeys. The books can be a bit difficult to read at times but they're so much better than the ghastly TV series, I haven't even started watching season 5.
My friends were into RR Martin long ago, so I was required! to read the first book about 10 years ago. Now I'm slowly catching up. & although I didn't like some of the casting choices during the first few seasons, I am fully invested in the show now :)
Tinnitus is some kind of peeping in your ear that sometimes appears after a concert (which is a bad sign, it means that it was way too loud for your ears). If you're unlucky, which is mostly the case, you'll have Tinnitus for your whole life, or at least for a very long time. Such as me, yay. It's really crappy. Take care of your ears kid.
I don't know, but i get a ringing noise for about 10 secs or even less atleast a couple times a week. has been happening for months. hopefully doesn't constant cause i don't want to deal with anything like that. especially me being young.(17 yrs old)
Mike Cyrus No, there isn't anything that can be done, except waiting. It faded away very slowly. For me, this was the last straw after years of damage. I am very careful now.
I frequent death metal concerts and without proper hearing protection, there is simply no way to actually make out the music, it's just way too loud and above the absolute threshold. Right on with the advice, man.
Thrashpowerpush Yea at those volumes with so much bass it all turns to mud. Earplugs make the highs and lows more distinguishable PLUS they protect your hearing (which is what makes enjoying music possible in the first place). Win-win.
Yeah, after a concert in NYC, it slowly faded over that period. I did have a lot of cumulative damage leading up to that concert, though. I'm unbothered by ringing these days, but I now only attend a few shows per year, always with earplugs.
@@DalesDiscourse I went to a concert 3 days ago and I sat really close to the stage and I've had the ringing ever since...I'm super stressed out about it and this video helped me a lot...thank you so much
@@DalesDiscourse hey just a little update...it never fully went away however I have just gotten used to it so I can only hear it when I plug my ears...it doesn't bother me at all anymore...I just want to thank you for making this video because In the beginning I was so stressed out I was almost in tears...and your video calmed me down...thank you so much
And I actually do have to wear earplugs because my ears are just like sensitive I watch to much nascar. I’m not a country person by the way more city but you no what I mean.

Take it easy - it should pass.
Lovely video- very soothing and kind spirited!

here's a few ideas for treating tinnitus naturally
Make sure you consume enough fruit and vegetables.
Make sure you have enough vitamin C
make use of herbs which cleanse the body eg dandelion
make use of herbs with infection fighting properties eg myrrh and burdock and others including echinacea
(I discovered these and why they work from Dajon Ear Relief website )
Thank you for this. Knowing how well you understand how awful it is to have tinnitus, and your comforting tone and words, are helping me feel better. My tinnitus is a permanent side-effect of a middle ear infection I had almost four years ago in my left ear. In the last year, it's gradually gotten worse, especially within the last month. I have several high-pitched tones, and the friggin' icing on the cake is that my right ear randomly decided to have tinnitus tonight.

Man I just went to a concert last night and it was great but... my ears are still ringing. ;~; Ive dealt with tinnitus before but not this bad.
Hopefully it has faded since you posted
One of the biggest dangers to your hearing is prolonged headphone use, that’s even more scarier cause you don’t even notice it
@@Sithkiller Yes - Apple has a way to monitor the decibel level, at least in the newest OS
do you still go to concerts?
Rarely - maybe once per year these days.
I bet you're a good cuddler
Christian LeGault wtf
can someone explain what tinnitus?? I don't what it is but great video i love you
Tinnitus is some kind of peeping in your ear that sometimes appears after a concert (which is a bad sign, it means that it was way too loud for your ears). If you're unlucky, which is mostly the case, you'll have Tinnitus for your whole life, or at least for a very long time. Such as me, yay. It's really crappy. Take care of your ears kid.
이서비 I hear, a ringing noise for about 10 secs almost like a couple times a week. is that tinnitus?
Bryan G Is it very loud and on both ears? Because if not, I don't think it is Tinnitus
I don't know, but i get a ringing noise for about 10 secs or even less atleast a couple times a week. has been happening for months. hopefully doesn't constant cause i don't want to deal with anything like that. especially me being young.(17 yrs old)
이서비 Never had it in both ears at once, but yes this has happened in both ears but not both at once
That was great! You're great! The only problem I had was laughing too much at your humour.
you actually had it for a month and it just went away? did you do anything else?
Mike Cyrus No, there isn't anything that can be done, except waiting. It faded away very slowly. For me, this was the last straw after years of damage. I am very careful now.
I don’t have tinnitus but I watched this after seeing childish gambino and rae sremurd in concert
Concerts are even better with peace of mind!
Win-win.
Iv had ringing in my ears for 7 mouths lol
Gary Denmark What do they tell you?
They said I could be anything that could be causing it I have a deviated septum in my nose they said it could be the pressure hopefully I get it fixed
Maybe the ringing could whistle through the septum and you could learn to control the pitch & play along with songs?
That's a great idea lol
mmmmmh dat beard, love it!
***** :)
Did someone falcon kick me off the stage?
Milk show me your moves
2020
Is that true about you having ringing for a month? Or are you "roleplaying"?
Yeah, after a concert in NYC, it slowly faded over that period. I did have a lot of cumulative damage leading up to that concert, though. I'm unbothered by ringing these days, but I now only attend a few shows per year, always with earplugs.
@@DalesDiscourse I went to a concert 3 days ago and I sat really close to the stage and I've had the ringing ever since...I'm super stressed out about it and this video helped me a lot...thank you so much
I'm glad that it helped. I'm confident that the ringing will begin to fade away in the coming days
@@DalesDiscourse hey just a little update...it never fully went away however I have just gotten used to it so I can only hear it when I plug my ears...it doesn't bother me at all anymore...I just want to thank you for making this video because In the beginning I was so stressed out I was almost in tears...and your video calmed me down...thank you so much
after i think what was listening to ear buds to loud i may have Tinnitus fuck.
anyways man thanks this is giving me hope
+Skippy The Operator Try to stay calm and limit your exposure for awhile and things should improve slowly.
+DalesDiscourse Thanks!
