  • Had the honor of helping out with removing and replacing the all-carbon fiber upper and lower cowl of this all-carbon fiber aircraft. Since we got the cowls off I wanted to show you what a 1200HP Pratt and Whitney turbine fan engine looks like.
    The Epic can reach speeds over 333 knots in a single-engine aircraft. And the thrill of a 4,000-feet-per-minute climb out. But that's the power of a 1200-horsepower Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67A engine on an optimally designed all-composite Epic airframe. Delivering speeds faster than any single-engine turboprop on the market. And performance that rivals most business jets, without jet-class costs.

      It's hard not to be interested in airplanes when you're surrounded by them and everybody here at the airport has been very willing to teach you how to fly. 😁

    I've been watching your channel for your 4.7 and other dakota stuff. I'm also an aircraft mechanic of 6 years. C-130s, boeing 767s and 757s. Awesome video. Kinda funny how worried you were about being careful. Granted this plane is a private one and really nice. The stuff I work on are mostly cargo aircraft. Not near as shiny lol.

      Wow you get to wrench on the big boys.
      I actually had the honor of flying this plane this last weekend the pilot let me have the yolk on takeoff from the airport I live at and at another airport that we left later that day it was awesome. This particular aircraft is like the Ferrari of passenger planes.

      Yeah these Epic's are like the Ferrari of aircrafts.

    Good day firing up PT6A.... Just replaced a starter in a 5.7l WK.... $150.00 was just about right.👀

      Yeah it's hard to pull the trigger on an aircraft when the parts are so expensive. And then if it's a certified plane you can't even work on it. There is one ultralight I'm kind of interested in it's called a bush cat you can get it in kit form for around $50,000

      @@martinbuilt I've viewed your videos since the XJ. An XJ I had leaked from Rear M.S. and after three tries I parked it. You've done awesome with yours. With a Van's RV aircraft you can be a Certified Repairman with that plane and Feds.

    Hey bud great video I have an unrelated question.. I have an 03 4.7 ram with a blown head gasket! While I'm having all that fixed. Could you recommend a mild but decent set of cams to replace with?

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you I'm glad you liked it well unfortunately there are no aftermarket camshafts you can just purchase for the 4.7 back in the day there were some custom grinds and you may be able to find them used on eBay but if you're looking for just a few more ponies I would just find a set of HO camshafts either from eBay or my choice the local salvage yard.

      I found a donor engine from a 2008. Do the heads fit a 2003 block? By the way I used to be an aircraft mechanic in another life. I believe that they call that a reverse Turbo prop engine.

    Hi Martin. How are U doing? Hope good. Got a question about 4.7 HO. Can I put the 4.7 camshaft in to 4.7 HO? Thanks for help.

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt  22 дня назад

      Sure you can, did you have a camshaft failure and those are the only cams you can find?
      Just curious I've never heard of anybody wanting to install the non HO camshafts in an actual HO engine.

      @@martinbuilt :) actually Im from outside of US. So have problem finding HO camshaft. Mine bearing seats are broken. Thinking change the camshaft or install 0.25 bearings. Your opinion for me is very important. Thank U.
