I think your pretty naive because majority of haters are from inside the fandom. Non fans wouldn't even know a lot of the information that people use to drag him. Most of his haters are taekookers. Taekookers pretty much run the fandom. For example, Taekook lives has spread so much misinformation about vminkook saying Jimin is a homewrecker, taehyung is deoessed and jungkook is the cause of taehyungs depression. Infact many taekookers have instigated many attacks on Jimin (that anti attack that happened on 31st of December went on for four days with antis trending hashtags like jm deserves better but was filled with tweets spreading misinformation saying jimin has ed or was r@ped). Even a hate JM blog post on naver is getting over 100.000 clicks a day.

Edit: Ik Jungkook has always liked Jimin, but he was shy and never showed it until maybe 2016. Jimin even once mentioned that Jungkook bullies him a lot on camera but he could hear Jungkook whisper “I love you hyung” when he fake slept. The “didn’t like him” thing is just a joke

jungkook said he has always liked jimin but that he was young and shy and didn't know how to deal with jimin's straight forward affection. in fact, he doesn't seem to like this narrative that a lot of army have created. they've *always* had their sweet moments and one could always feel jungkooks love his hyung :)
