Every great fish keeper remembers there lost fish and will eventually breed them all back not even on purpose enjoy your journey welcome to the hobby 😊
Hi Jordan! Your tanks looks so serene, a nice clean design. Also love the selenite ;) Sorry about the fish death; I am actually working on a video about things I wish I knew when I started, and one of the things I will be talking about is to expect fish to die and give yourself some grace when it happens. So often there are factors out of your control; the stress from just moving from one tank to the next can do them in, or illness from something they had before they were in your care.....but slow acclimation can definitely be helpful, but not always the answer. Love that you are taking it as a learning experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what other tanks you set up!
Thanks Laura! Definitely a learning experience, but full of joyful moments too. Going to keep moving forward and create the tanks of my dreams. Looking forward to your video!
Heya! I've only been keeping for a year. Thanks SerpaDesigns for sucking me in with terrariums first lol. Then I saw Fishtory and Fatherfish! The rest is history lol, now I have 5 tanks 😂 2 12 gallons one has Neon Tetra, khuli loaches, and the other is my Pure class N endlers livebearers, a 5.5 (Endlers guppy hybrids* bought from bigbox store), a 2.5( Ghost shrimps), and a 32oz(scud & copepods)❤ good to have you in the aquatic community!
Sorry you had to go through the fish deaths. Unfortunately, it can totally happen. I'm working on my first tank and I've been slowly acquiring fish for my tank. First I got ember tetras and they were good. Then I got some Otos and they've done great too. Then I got 15 Dainty Corys, and I lost 9 of them. It was really sad. It was not all at once, so it was a drawn out really upsetting week. I brought my water to my LFS and they asked a ton of questions and essentially came to the conclusion that it wasn't my fault and told me that it wasn't my fault. They also told me they were going to talk to their supplier about it. All that being said, it was just a super sad and upsetting week. I haven't had any deaths since, and everything seems to be happy and healthy, including the 6 dainty's that are still alive. Good luck on your journey! I spend hours just staring at the fish in my tank. It's so cathardic!
Looks like you are doing a good job. I’ve been in the hobby for 4 years now and there are still things I learn every day. I’m glad to hear that you are using live plants. That makes life so much easier. Keep doing and learning and I’m sure you will succeed. Oh and I just subscribed. Can’t wait to see what you do.
If by diamond head tetras, you're meaning diamond head neon tetras (a breed of neon tetras), the cause of their deaths could possibly be a result of inbreeding that neon tetras have undergone throughout their time in the hobby. What you've got going on and the amount of effort and research you're putting in is amazing to see, keep it up man.
Thanks I got it tested at a local fish store and was told it was cycled, but it turns out it wasn't based on the most recent test. Been quite the learning experience!
Dude 15 minutes of a video and you never zoomed in on your tank once! lol No offense but maybe make the video less about you and more about the subject matter...lol

Thanks!
It is actually very painful to lose one of your fish. But I have the feeling that you are going to have many happy and healthy fish for years to come.
Good luck to you. Don't forget to cycle your tank first before adding fish.

Best thing is keep it simple.
Yes. I needed this reminder. Why make it difficult? Why not just enjoy and keep it simple.
Thx im gonna try start make my own tank as well weish me luck
good luck! I have a separate tank for the bettas and tetras at the moment, to give them more space. They are wonderful!
