Great review! Looks really cool, but i think I'll wait until further into early access to see how they address those playability issues. I quit "They Are Billions" because its difficulty was entirely based on not knowing what's coming and the lack of save system. Although Ixion does have some of those random challenges, i found that good city planning and conservative play significantly mitigated the risk of those unexpected incursions.

Dungeons 3 was good, a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper (EA butchered the current franchise). The dialogue is cheesy but the world/atmosphere is a well done comedic parody
I played Dungeons I - III and I gotta say they all were somewhat solid RTS-games. Managing your dungeon has been tough at times and frustrating at others as once a hero got pissed of enough they started a dissatisfaction-spiral dragging down other heroes. But occasional downwards spirals aside the games were enjoyable.
I said it in another of of these but for me it’s FFVII rebirth. I grew up on Final fantasy, specifically 7 so I can’t wait to see some more of the remake! And obviously pirates because sailing the seas is awesome and I loved assassins creed black flag.

I used to live nier a thick kinda wooded area and we frequently saw a lot of wild animals but the scariest thing ever was waking up and seeing a bear outside my window a few yards away. I could live without ever seeing that again…
I was a few feet away from a lady that had a close call with a poisonous snake. I'm not sure what kind, but it cooled up and hissed when she almost stepped on it. Thankfully it decided that it was better off just slithering away.

I did try fencing briefly IRL but apparently the use covered points and get mad when you try to murder people. I may not be learning the right lessons from playing video games.
Surprisingly while fencing has always seemed cool my favorite niche sport (though it might not actually be that niche it is where I live) is polo. Truly fun to watch in my opinion!
Have the game already, really fun one. Hhhhhm, just watched an absolute hilarious video from outside xbox this morning, fantasy horse race, with the yeti, the trojan horse, mecha horse and many more competeing! So so so funny 😅🤣😅🤣😅
When I tried to get a review copy for this they said they were out of keys and I assume you took the last one. So my favorite sport is now wrestling because I'm gonna wrestle the key out of everyone else's hands here.

Now I'm sure this game is fine and has potential to get better, but I personally can't get over the fact that it uses the same font and UI elements as Frostpunk despite not being made by the same people. Even the other visual elements like the buildings and weather look a bit too similar to Frostpunk. Still, thank you for the review!
Agreed, New Cycle is very reminiscent of Frostpunk in more ways than one. Ultimately, however, I think New Cycle does enough differently to stand apart from its obvious source of inspiration.
Trains are nice when they are available for where you want to go, but aren't as ubiquitous in the US. It's hard to say least favorite. All have their pros and cons. I would probably have to say unicycle.
I played VR back when it was first starting out, with the valve HTC VIVE. I wear glasses though, and it wasn't too comfortable, and I never played enough to get out of the motion sickness phase. I would like to try VR again with the new headsets that have been released, as a few of my friends play VR. Happy new year!
Love you channel man and I’m an early adopter of the meta quest 2 (or as I often still call it the oculus quest 2) so I’ve been a fan of vr for a little while now. It’s a blast and makes for a great way to play with friends and interact in mor so depth ways.
Why does it seem like every modern city builder is so hazy? It's like they're all afraid of colors or interesting designs so you can't see anything more than 15 feet from the camera.
Agreed! Without UI tooltips on in New Cycle, it's very hard to differentiate buildings. Generally speaking, gritty, realistic visual approaches to games are never as appealing to me as are their more colorful, brightly defined counterparts (e.g. LoL vs. DotA 2; Overwatch vs. COD).
Seeing as how I care not in the slightest about the entire story section, bosses, or puzzles, when applied to this kind of game...that's actually a really bad score. (For me, personally.) I'll wait it out and see what others think; luckily these kinds of games can ripen like a fine wine...but sometimes they sour. Hoping for the former!
If it helps your decision, my scoring system is one of the toughest out there (of 100+ reviews, only 10 received a 4/5 or better). This in mind, I think New Cycle is a solid game with room to grow into something special by the end of Early Access. Here's to hoping, at least :)

Nope, but dungeon keeper 2 many, MANY times.

LAST TRAIN HOME: What are your favorite and least favorite forms of transit?
Favorite is airplane as weird as that is I’ve always loved being in the sky. Least favorite is hands down boat seasickness is the absolute worst!
Public metros in montreal are depressing. There are hidden cameras yet they do nothing
Every form can be perfecr and the worst... So, love empty transit (trains, roads, airports...) despise hordes of tourists / commuters 😊
