That was a delightful , rich , creamy bread pudding, a little on the sugary side I thought.
The mixing bowl is stoneware and much prized by the British and American housewives.
The enamel coated mug was very much in evidence in the kitchen cupboards of my British neighbours in the Navy, when I was a child.
So when you referred to it as serving dishes for jail inmates , it came as a surprise.
The use of enamel coated cookware is making a big revival , going under brand names like Le Creuset and Staub
