Well what do you all expect It's not like these animals live in apartments or houses They run around in the wild They are just trying to survive as well They see food they go get it
NEVER leave food outside. Raccoons will attack cats as a pack. I've seen it myself and rescued the cat. ALL food should be indoors before sunset and not until well after sunrise. Lions, racoon packs, and coyotes and fox will figure out the cat or dog food and come looking. Removing it for a while won't work. Once they know your place they will check back now and then.
Especially coyotes because they are the smartest animals. Once they've made a kill or have found food there before they know where the location is and how to come back to it
In related news: humans destroy mountain lion habitat for new housing starts and then act shocked when those same animals find alternate food sources in order to survive.
Wait wait wait. Does one person on here really act like they are better then animals. hellooo, they feed us and give us yummy steak and bacon. Dude if u take over an animal habitat ofc you'll see it in ur area eventually. It happens where I live
I told people 20 years ago when CA stopped hunting lions this would happen. If you don't scare lions and bears away and thin them out, people become prey. Hunting is conservation and control
@stevebutler8387 So where did you get your degree in conservation? There are myriad ways to avoid unpleasant encounters with wildlife without the use of firearms. Being sensible and aware would be the highest method on my list.
I would have shot it in the face when it was watching them through the window like if its caught on camera this dude is threatening the well being of others, there shouldnt be much of a case to deal with afterwards. Anyway bless that dog.

Just shoot the mountain lion, not waiting for Authorities . That is what I would have done, they would come quickly next time you call. My animals, my home so I own what ever trespasses !!
First thought was that the dog survived because the cougar was either young and inexperienced or old with blunt, worn, or missing teeth. But then the report said it came back and killed two goats in her barn. The dog is very lucky.
12 years ago. I had a mountain lion try to eat my chickens and my pack of 6 german shepherds were all sent out to teach it a lesson. It was never seen again ever since then. Never doubt the wild life!
How the lion was sitting there staring like, "Lady, I can do this all day. I'm like that Sting song. I'll be watching you.." 😐 And then he/she yawned at one point like they were right at home. 😅 Guess I'm the only one in this comment thread who still saw the cuteness in this deadly being. Lol. Also, when they said the lion was senile. Like they were describing an old, bothersome neighbor lady. 😂
Ive lived in mtn lion areas quite a bit, they used to walk right around my garage at night, which is attached to the house, you could SEE their BIG paw tracks and tail drag in the snow the next morning! and that was right IN a city of almost 2 million people, near the edge of the city with lots of brush n trees. everyone had high fenced yards, and even though i had a doberman, i never left her in the fenced yard when i wasnt home, ever.
2 takeaways.... 1. The mountain lion didn't seem senile. He seemed very in tune with his environment, which included a nice meal of goats whenever he wanted, just sitting there waiting to be had, and a door that gets left open for whenever he wants a different kind of meal such as a dog. And 2. Being that it's California, I'd be surprised if her neighbor doesn't do 20 years in prison for firing his gun. Only criminals in that state are allowed to do that. I'm also surprised every antigun person in that state isn't in front of his house protesting.

Lions, racoon packs, and coyotes and fox will figure out the cat or dog food and come looking. Removing it for a while won't work. Once they know your place they will check back now and then.
Especially coyotes because they are the smartest animals. Once they've made a kill or have found food there before they know where the location is and how to come back to it
Put a spiked collar on your dog!
get off your phone and take a look around once in a while.....in all aspects of life.clearly she is so aloof to her surroundings
If you know a mountain lion has repeatedly been around your home, why would you leave the door open?
Don't count on F&W to do anything fast, even if there are children present. Protect yourself, your family, and your pets. Do what is necessary.
It would have been the end of that mountain lion if it had MY dog like that.
Don't let your dog outside where the wild animals will get them
Ohhhhhh, don't mess with this tough chick. Why are so many americans so revoltingly corny.
Hard to believe the cat would be senile…
In related news: humans destroy mountain lion habitat for new housing starts and then act shocked when those same animals find alternate food sources in order to survive.
and let fat people that breed goats to put them outside all day... lmao
That’s a lie you people use to blame humans as usual. No matter where you live predators are going to choose to go after easy prey like dogs and goats
The sad part, its not the human who will suffer but strays and pets outside of the house. Poor souls.
Wait wait wait. Does one person on here really act like they are better then animals. hellooo, they feed us and give us yummy steak and bacon. Dude if u take over an animal habitat ofc you'll see it in ur area eventually. It happens where I live
@@hashbrown4278 were you dropped as a baby
how about you don't leave your door opened!!!!
Thats thats what happens when you build your home in the middle of wildlife land...
No way I’d have stood there and watched…and filmed…that cat attacking my dog…
Yes you would. You’d either freeze in terror or you’d realize that the mutt is replaceable. You aren’t
It goes to show how powerful a mountain lion is
Geeze, the mountain lion needs to eat too.
Yeah: why don't you offer yourself as lunch?
@@DieFlabbergast Too salty.
This Mountain Lion CAME way to CLOSE because it was very HUNGERY
the spelling error(s) are having me at my most weakened state.
More like, this is what happens when you build a house in an area native to mountain lions.
I told people 20 years ago when CA stopped hunting lions this would happen. If you don't scare lions and bears away and thin them out, people become prey. Hunting is conservation and control
@stevebutler8387
So where did you get your degree in conservation? There are myriad ways to avoid unpleasant encounters with wildlife without the use of firearms. Being sensible and aware would be the highest method on my list.
@@cquilty1I would give them directions to your house for starters

Excellent idea!! Thank you, dear.

Easy there, Robin Hood...
I would have shot it in the face when it was watching them through the window like if its caught on camera this dude is threatening the well being of others, there shouldnt be much of a case to deal with afterwards. Anyway bless that dog.
“I live in an area where mountain lions exist, so I’m going to leave by sliding door windows open at night.”
Imagine getting up at night for a snack or potty break and bumping into a cougar in your house. That's be better than a massive jolt of caffeine.
I have 8 Akitas and I know they would have went completely off on that mountain!!
Maybe
I’ve lived in CA all my life and never came close to seeing a mountain lion. All I see is coyotes.
And of all the big cats, the mountain lion is closest to a house cat in behavior. ROTFL!
Owner didnt seem worried at all. Mountain lion never should have been put down. We need to stay out of their habitats
Why do people choose to live in places where they are exposed to natural predators? Unfathomable to me.
if she were in better shape, she could've made mountain lion tacos
I live in a state where lions like this can be dispatched by the property owner.
Americans shouldn't need state permission to protect their property and animals.🙄
THIS. Here we have to hide the fact that we dispatched an aggressive animal. It's ridiculous. They even banned cougar hunting so now they over populate
Stop hunting mountain lion prey animals and stop holding your easy to catch beef on feet.
@@alwaysfourfun1671
Stop talking about things you know nothing about.🙄🤦
This is why you shouldn't leave your animals outside you never who or what is lurking around
Oh I’ll be damned, that mountain lion would have purred its last purr !!!!
Another example of people who are not in tune to their environment
The puma a menace to society 😂😂
That name...wow.
So you live in mountain lion country and you leave your door open. Uh nope..
I'm going to leave my sliding door open in mountain lion country!
Just shoot the mountain lion, not waiting for Authorities . That is what I would have done, they would come quickly next time you call. My animals, my home so I own what ever trespasses !!
They’re highly endangered and no mutt is worth the jail time and fines
She doesn’t seem like the most savvy person to be living in mountain lion country.
Hold on her dog was laying there and she’s just taking a video?
First thought was that the dog survived because the cougar was either young and inexperienced or old with blunt, worn, or missing teeth. But then the report said it came back and killed two goats in her barn. The dog is very lucky.
She knows about lion & left door open! Brave!
12 years ago. I had a mountain lion try to eat my chickens and my pack of 6 german shepherds were all sent out to teach it a lesson. It was never seen again ever since then. Never doubt the wild life!
wow! she doesn’t look worried that her dog was hurt 😠
Why do mountain lions attack if they are not being bothered by any human or other animals? Is it hunger?
Poor dog 😢he deserves a better owner
How the lion was sitting there staring like, "Lady, I can do this all day. I'm like that Sting song. I'll be watching you.." 😐 And then he/she yawned at one point like they were right at home. 😅 Guess I'm the only one in this comment thread who still saw the cuteness in this deadly being. Lol.
Also, when they said the lion was senile. Like they were describing an old, bothersome neighbor lady. 😂
I usually put goats outside at night to attract Velociraptors.
Nobody is shocked that this woman is single; her own dogs don’t even like her.
Sherman will remember you putting him on Worldstar instead of helping him out.
You'll never guess where I got this rug.
A Californian without a firearm or a anyway to defend themselves, what a shocker!
Sounds like that woman is the problem. Owning animals should not be a right.
Sanra Rosa, oh, that's just to close now . I've never heard of this happening
I know animals technically are supposed to be outside, but I wouldn't trust leaving my dog outside at night. I'm not even sure about the day.
You are a fool to leave your door open when you live in an area where you know mountain lions walk into your yard.
If you are more concerned for yourself than the animals in your care, don’t have pets. I will protect my animals with my life if necessary
They said stay inside and she went back outside?! WTH! Mountain lions are smart and will come back for prey they’ve wounded.
That mountain lion would have been dead if it touched my dog
Anything threatens my homestead it gets lead poisoning in some mysterious way.
I never leave a open door, even though we have no mountain lions here or nothing similar.
2 takeaways....
1. The mountain lion didn't seem senile. He seemed very in tune with his environment, which included a nice meal of goats whenever he wanted, just sitting there waiting to be had, and a door that gets left open for whenever he wants a different kind of meal such as a dog.
And
2. Being that it's California, I'd be surprised if her neighbor doesn't do 20 years in prison for firing his gun. Only criminals in that state are allowed to do that. I'm also surprised every antigun person in that state isn't in front of his house protesting.
So she lives in mountain lion country but she leaves her door open at night? Yeah, right! Then she goes outside knowing that the mountain lion is probably still out there. You can’t make this kind of stuff up.
She wasn't old and senile. She was old and opportunistic. Who are they hiring at the California DFW?
Dogs can have seizures
what kind of person films their dog in the jaws of a mountain lion from inside and does nothing?
yup, he was having the seizure of its life..
