Would you recommend transfers to come to ND? I applied and was rejected, sadly I think I didn’t take my freshman/sophomore years serious enough but I’ve been really trying hard and want to transfer in after freshman year. Have you had an experience with transfers? Do you know if they are successful?

notre dame is pretty good about transfers! there’s a 24% acceptance rate, which aligns with schools of similar ranking (washu around 20% and vanderbilt around 25%). from my experience, i feel like most transfers come from south bend’s st mary’s or holy cross schools. definitely apply if you’re interested, couldn’t hurt:)

Did you come from the south, if so, can you talk about the weather?

I did live in Alabama when I was young, but I don’t think I can personally answer this question. However, my roommate is from California, so I’ve watched her experience colder weather and snow for the first time. No matter where you’re from, the first couple of cold days hit hard. Invest in a nice winter coat (North Face is a good place to start) and some thicker sweaters, and I wouldn’t worry. Layering is key. But at the end of the day, don’t let something like weather stop you from applying to schools you’re interested in!
