The reason the bone thief isn't attacking the cameraman is because it's just another bone thief recording after stealing a camera from an Async scientist.
I really like this design, it's like if the backrooms itself tried to recreate the people in the hazard suits but made something completely different. Like it understood the eyes behind the helmet and what material the suits were made out of but it doesn't understand how anything about it.
