I know this piece like the back of my hand and watching those percussionists gives me anxiety. Only because they were good but I know how easy it is to mess it up.
I saw at least a couple hovering over their instruments ready to play. They were either focused and ready to go, or they were at least as anxious as you were.
This is the favorite piece of any band person I talk to. My band took 2nd place nationally with this piece. It holds the most wonderful memories of my childhood. I'm 60 now and nothing else make my body and psychic feel like this music does. This group did a fantastic job on this!!
5:34 for some reason I love that part, it sounds so upbeat. Kind of gives me that happy vibe that I can’t really categorize, but it works perfectly with the storyline.
I'm gonna be playing this in my middle school honors band for UIL this year. I just listened to the full song 10 minutes before commenting this, and 3:39 is my favorite part. Playing this looks terrifying, as this is my first time playing a song at this level. Wish me luck.

This thing can collapse in a heartbeat, even by the best of ensembles.

What Band?
Thas a lot of Tubas!!! That sound though!!
8 f'ing TUBAS!!! YAS!
I love how they disregarded the tuba entrance as a "solo" at the beginning and just all played it together
I kinda like the 2 contrabass clarinets, myself! ;)
Yesss I’m one of the tubist in here and our section is really strong!!
My son at one of the Tubas😂

It was one of my favorite parts to play as well.
My favorite as well. Goosebumps inducing.

A beautiful performance of one of my favorite pieces from high school honors band!!!
We played this in 1983. Listening to it now, I actually started sweating from the effort of playing it. Phew!!! Well done everyone!
this is probably the closest to the professional recording i have ever heard, amazing job!
The amount of low wind instruments are awesome
Low brass was off the hook!
Great piece and played great! The last two notes were done better than I’ve heard anyone else do it!
fantastic low brass section
yes i agree
The tambourine mess up with the presto.
Great performance of one of my favorite pieces, used to do it in high school band and all state...
Same here! I played trumpet and I remember being super intimated when I first saw the sheet music.
I played flute on this piece in high school too. It was the most fun song to play!
Note to yall: GET A BIGGER SLAPSTICK!
Great performance!
World class
Thank you!
Miss tambourine you need to be calm.
Very awesomeness!!
so many instruments but barely any flutes :(
Jacob Piccolo it’s supposed to be that way for balance
I don't think I've ever seen so many male flautists in one ensemble before.
Amazingly wow, so done!
BASSOOONNN❤️

great performance, but all of the empty chairs are puzzling... and so many people aren't sharing stands....
