Hello Ronald, i'm making floats too (for my own using) with "Dremmel" and mini-lathe (as you) but, i have problems with the speed needed for both (dremmel and lathe) when using rohacell. So, my float "surface" is not as good as your. Have you any advice for me ? Thanks a lot.
Hello, The speed of the spindle (Lathe) is about 1500 RPM and the diamond grinding disc does 20.000 RPM. However you have to consider going twice over the body, because the first time the disc is bet a little while removing the rohacell. The second time this is not an issue.

It's a diamond cutting disc in 20 mm. If you google this, there will be found some suppliers
@@ronaldhammers4232 Thanks! Had you ever turned balsa floats with the same tool? I would like to build a CNC mill with to linear and one rotary axis to cut fishing balsa lures. Am I dreaming awake?
@@gabrielfusaru1211 Yes it is possible to use the diamond disc for Balsa also. Be aware this disc can get hot while in process, so the spinning of the tool must be reduced.
