I don't know they did the same to the Bernie mac show and malcolm in the middle all the first season was released in the u.s but not the rest but I guess it was due to high cost music clearance so they were canceled so that means the first seasons wasn't doing well on sale but they might start back releasing them on DVD in the future.

If she allowed Jack to think he still had "The Gift", he would have carried on being blissfully pressured into drinking way too much NyQuil and helping his grandfather gamble away his money (which is clearly an addiction for him). She's telling him to never tell anyone his dreams to prevent him from being put in a vulnerable position like that, where he's enabling an adult's addiction and opening himself up to being manipulated into further pressures and guilt. If Pops lost on a game he bet on, as per Jack's dream advice, Jack would hold himself responsible even though the responsibility would still be on Pops for his betting. And knowing how naive Jack is, she wanted to keep him safe. Getting minors involved in adult things like gambling is a sticky, iffy issue even in the best case scenario.
