    Another way that I have remembered Mortgagor and Mortgagee .. Mortgagor has 2 O's and so does borrower. Mortgagee has 2 E's and so does Lender.

      Listen up guys. Removing or adding name from/on deeds is not as easy as it seems . There’s always a lot of process that one have to go through. And sometimes it takes months , years .. not to mention the money you spend and stress back and forth. A whole lot of time wasted/invested. Few months ago I was going through some divorce process with my ex . I almost lost my house which I bought with my money years back . It was really some tough times.     I took my exam yesterday and failed, my instructor during my courses wasn't the best at explaining everything. I was so devastated yesterday, and frustrated because i was thinking i was never going to pass this exam. i came home and found your videos, you've already helped so much, and reboosted my confidence for my next time taking the exam! thank you!

      I agree. If you want to learn like I see you do. There are no bad students just real bad teachers. I am sorry you wasted all that time on a teacher that should of been flipping hamburgers. I know the feeling. I had a teacher with air conditioning that I wasted a hole year with

    Hello Joe,
    After a few attempts , Ifinally passed my the Illinois Real Estate exam . I was in class and someone mention to me check out prep agent. I admit that it wasnt until I failed the national portion a second time that it came to me . It was the best resouce ever !
    Thank you and Thank you. I watched your videos and grasp so much more than I ever could reading the book alone(perhaps that was the problem) which you stated "do not rely on one resouce to lean the material ... They do not stress that enough in these real estate courses . Thank goodness for the person who said check out prep agent and for you Joe keep up the GRE8T work!

    After I took my class and passed their exam I felt like I really didn't understand anything. I took one of the prep classes for the Exam and then didn't pass the state exam.Needless to say I was discourage, now I have about 2 months left to take the state exam again. I found Joe the Prep agent and I'm starting to feel like I might do it this time.

    This is a very informative video where everything was exlained in a very plain English kinda way, but for some reason I seem to still not fully understand the "unbroken chain" part in the difference between a general warranty deed and the special warranty deed.. I'm thinking wouldn't that be shown at the county records? I mean what would be an example of a "broken chian"..? Im missing something here.. Can someone help me understand that please? Thank you

    Sooo maybe I’ll make it more complicated but the word mortgage is OLD FRENCH. Mort: means DEATH 💀 shocking 😂 and Gage: means PLEDGE. When you take out a mortgage, you are GIVING a DEATH PLEDGE(sometimes it feels like it really is that😂) Since YOU are GIVING, it makes you the mortgagor, and the one RECEIVING your pledge(lender) is the mortgagee. It helps if you know the roots of things so you don’t just remember but know how to use it and why it works.

    I was told that Special warranty deeds are what we most commonly use as property owners rather than General Warranty Deeds

    I failed class final, didn't even take the state exam. I got discouraged and never went back to take it again. I'm prolonging this process bc teacher said come back when I'm ready, I don't know if and when I'm gonna be ready! Your webinars are awesome and are helpful, I'm just still scared. I'm in NY and a lot of the laws here dealing with the health department, environmental department, and all these different taxation departments is what's stressing me out. Who is in charge of what and blah blah blah. So tedious and annoying.

    In Texas there is 5 essentials for a valid contract and we called it COLIC -competent parties, offer and acceptance, lawful object, in writing, consideration.

    if your family member has you in their will and states that the home(property) you will inherit, bur the property has not been paid in full what type of deed should be in writing and what happens to the mortgage

    Hi Prep Agent...another awesome and very helpful vid! I was trying to clarify what happens with outstanding mortgage and who is responsible for payments....and saw below. Can you clarify? It sounded like your description suggested all liens went to person receiving, but below says giver or Grantor still responsible for liens/ mortgage etc?:

    can u answer a question? I purchased a townhome with an external garage 6 months ago. but I found out later I never got the deed to the external garage. but neither did the 2 owners before me. what appears to have happened, is the developer never transferred the title over to the first owner of the townhome (and so the second and third owners never got the deed either). however, 13 years later (about 4 months ago) the developer sold all the external garages to a storage rental company (LLC). the LLC bought all the external garages from the developer. so I was told by the LLC, get out....this is my garage. and when I check the county parcel records, sure enough the LLC did own the garage I thought was mine. now I get a call 2 weeks ago from a developer representative saying they will give me 10K to sign a QUIT CLAIM DEED on the garage. but the garage is probably worth twice that. QUESTION. does this external garage most likely have a CLOUD ON THE TITLE? also, is there anyway for the LLC to remove the cloud from this title without me signing the quick claim deed? I am bargaining with the developer to get the garage back (of course they would need to buy it back from the LLC and give it to me). so I would like to know how powerful of a position I am in when bargaining with them. my real estate agent tells me with the cloud on the title I am part owner of the garage even though the LLC has the title to it because they can't really do anything with it (like sell it or even rent it out).

    I took my exam yesterday and passed the PA state portion, however I failed the national by 6 questions which were all math and I did not do any of the math:(

      What I liked about the conversation with Lisa was that Joe corrected her and never, every said anything to belittle her. It was a good test for her and just showed that there are many of us watching these videos probably similar to her. I still learned a lot from this video. Thank you, Joe.

      I would agree - so much less time is spent on subject matter when he's waiting for someone to answer. Not much was covered in this video at all. I do appreciate Joe and the videos but I find myself skipping over the student's talking quite a bit.
