    Awesome video! I was fishing there the same week as you, just a little further downstream. It was similarly slow, but such a great experience nonetheless. Losing all track of time under the "midnight sun" and casting into the early morning is an experience like no other. Thanks for sharing!

      @@jpsflyfishing Have you ever tried Stjørdalselva? That is my river of choice since 2020. Extremely good deal per number of pools vs. price. Plenty of salmon.

      @@paweltt no, I’ve only fished the Orkla abroad and most of the UK Salmon rivers.. I would be keen to visit more rivers in Norway though, the quality we’ve seen so far is brilliant. Where do you get tickets and info, Elveguiden?!

    The first pool with all the people and the main shelter was ruined by the spring flood 3 years ago and is basicly no longer holding fish wich is a pity since it used to be pretty good. The end of the season when you where there brought another huge flood so it will be interesting to see if the fish wil hold there again this year.

    • @jpsflyfishing
      @jpsflyfishing  6 месяцев назад

      That's interesting, I'm guessing some of the deeper holes were filled in during said flood. Here's hoping for some decent catches this season

    • @MrKveite1
      @MrKveite1 6 месяцев назад

      Not really, the deeper part out from the whitwater moved a little and changed the current in the entire pool and the salmon didnt like it. The huge stone between the shelter and the rapid wasnt like that earlier and that caused the problem imo. We couldnt see it earlier and now it's above the surface

    Great video that first fish looked to have some weight in it, so unlucky i thought he was well hooked .

    • @jpsflyfishing
      @jpsflyfishing  Год назад

      Al said he saw it jump at the start and estimated it around 15 - 20lb and considering average fish that week is around 16lb, why not… He put a lot of pressure on it at the end to try and stop it getting in to that faster water below, if it leaves the pool there, it’s going back to sea 😂
      I hope your fishing is going well, I saw you’ve been catching a few from your RUclips videos 🎣

      @@darenrayson7052 yeh, it was really good and perfect for the weeks fishing. The beats are a lot busier than in the UK generally but places like Grindal offer some more private fishing I guess but that comes with a higher price… whatever you do, I’m sure you’ll have a good experience. What does a week like this cost?

    • @jpsflyfishing

      I think it was around £1200 per person all in. Organised ourselves and some shared costs like rental car and accommodation.
