Beautiful colors and moose, of course.

Lovely! I saved a cow moose from a pack of wolves a few weeks ago! They had her corralled in the unfrozen part of our creek and were just waiting for her to die. The dogs and I came around the corner of the lake to find them there. A shot in the air from my rifle sent the wolves running. I took the dogs back to the cabin and told hubby. He went down on the skidoo and calmed her enough that she eventually jumped out of the creek and took off into the woods. Poor thing.

Haven't seen a lot of moose this year as wolves came through and scared a lot of game away. Shame in one way but it is nature's course. I don't hunt moose anymore and use my property as a sanctuary for them now. Are you at the cabin or heading South?

@@NorthernRetreat Visiting my Mom on Vancouver Island for a few weeks before hubby and I meet back at home to prepare for our trip south. He's still at the cabin for a few more weeks.

@LittleCabinintheYukon Says it's brutally cold in the Yukon. Northern Ontario is pretty cold right now with lots of snow.

@@NorthernRetreat It was -22C today, but a few days ago it was -50! We've had it that cold a few times, and survive, but the floor gets awfully cold!
