I think my favorite episode is Deserts for one thing and one thing only: Mononykus 😂 easily has become my new favorite dinosaur, she was adorable in that segment
M O N O N Y K U S
She is the best girl
Mononykus, the desert specialist.
This Series is a 10/10 for me. It even has a 100% score on rotten tomatoes, "A 100% Score!", Plus
"The Carnos are freaking adorable."
Agree
I’m still waiting for the dvd release for prehistoric planet
Plus I’m the only one here and my favorite Dino is the carnotaurus cause u know he’s my favorite
I'm SO proud to hear that this documentary series is already a massive hit and is on par with the other top streaming hits currently! AppleTV+ deserves the success they're getting with Prehistoric Planet and hopefully we'll get a season 2, a spinoff, or some more great paleo-media content!
To me this show is phenomenal, where it's better than Walking With Dinosaurs is obviously in visual effects, CGI and modern accuracy, however overall WWD is a better show for me, just due to its presentation, score, storytelling,, structure and it's focus on one particular animal and time period for each show, just the fact that it's still the paleo documentary in which all others are compared to just shows how timeless it is.
this is my top 5
1: Walking With Dinosaurs + Ballad of Big Al
2: Walking With Beasts
3: Nigel Marvin specials
4: Prehistoric Planet
5: Walking With Monsters
Heres my top 7 docs
1: When dinosaurs roamed america
2: Prehistoric Planet
3: Ballad of Big Al
4: Walking with Beasts
5: Nigel Marvin docs
6: Walking with Dinosaurs
7: Walking with Monsters
Hopefully we could get a documentary of this quality based in the Morrison Formation one day.
A doc on the Candeleros and Baharaya formations would be great too.
I really do hope that Prehistoric Planet is just the start of much more up to date paleo media in the years to come. in fact, I'm going to write a list on places and time periods where I want the next one to take place.
4. The western interior seaway
3. Early Cretaceous China
2. The early Paleocene right after the KT event
1. South Amarica from the Paleocene to Miocene
gotta get that barinasuchus and kelenken animated amirite
I hope they cover other time periods, like the triassic and Jurassic periods, as well as paleozoic and even cenozoic epocs
It’s the boldest, most beautiful documentary I’ve ever seen. Not just in the dino docs category.
let's be clear here... Hans Zimmer only wrote the opening music. The dramatic theme at the start of every episode with the title card. Everything else was written by two up-and-raising composers, Anže Rozman Kara Talve.
This was absolutely stunning. Like you said, it feels like a world class camera crew caught these moments in the wild. It broke my mind to see these things depicted like this.
Gigan is giant Mononykus
Oh I can't wait for you to rip Fallen Kingdom apart
Your right this has got to be one of if not the greatest prehistoric documentary of all time.
I hope they make a season 2 that takes place in the Jurassic period.
the intro music...

I'm so glad to come back to your channel and see you're still doing videos! 🥺
I think this is the best prehistoric documentary, especially from the technical point of view and regarding that it's scientifically most accurate. But it is also missing some things I really love about WWD: For example the shift between different time periods, going from Triassic and Jurassic to the Cretaceous. Also I liked the focus on one or a few central individuals in most episodes. In contrast, all we see in PP is from late Cretaceous (which makes sense because it's the period where we know the most about) and the ongoing cuts from one area to another which don't let you bond with the individuals you are watching. But I still enjoyed watching it and I will surely do that again!
I’m going to do something I’ve never done before and defend an ornithomimus:
I actually like it more in the show than everywhere else because they did more than just slap feathers on it or make it an ostrich like some shows. Here they gave it the shaggy coat like we saw with Deinocheirus, along with a mohawk and some display feathers on the arms. They took an animal commonly depicted being streamlined and made it look more natural.
We have our next Walking with Dinosaurs.
The velociraptor in Deserts was drop dead gorgeous. I just can’t get over that face or that very dirty foot. Totally worth the bother if signing up for Apple at least until I can buy the series.
Honestly I think they did a great job with Ornithomimus, it looks really nice and looks almost like a basal ostrich, which is what it would’ve looked like and I don’t see where the thrown on feathers point comes from.
this man is underrated af
This show was as good a Dino doc as it was an ad for the Unity engine. That is an absolute compliment.
Little did he know we’re getting a season 2
I love the Carno. If they make a season two they better show he got a mate if not I will cry.
I'll watch this when I get the chance it sounds interesting
6:57 thats not the JP rex roar
this is my favorite carnotaurus
it was awesome
The pterosaur designs are the best ones, in my opinion.
I wouldn't say its the best. It has some flaws for me. Like its lack of a consistent focus, and it not really sticking to what main dinosaur it should have told a story with per episode, as opposed to for going with quantity over quality. I still think Walking with Dinosaurs is better because of how it was structured, how it told its story on its dinosaurs, how each surrounding dinosaur had relevance to the events involved with the featured one, its avoidance of anthropromorphing the dinosaurs and it telling a candid story of the various stages of events in the dinosaurs life rather than just one sequence, then switch to something else the way Prehistoric planet does so quickly.
Hi Sam the Giganfan. I love you
7:03 that’s not a JP roar
I also enjoy it
Do the future is wild
imo, it didnt feel tragic enough. just about everything just worked out for the dinosaurs
Yep, especially for that one T-Rex chick that got killed by a mosasaur, or that Masiakosaurus baby that got ambushed by a giant frog, or that one Carnotaurus that got rejected. Everything worked out for the dinosaurs and nothing tragic ever took place.
Gotta say I really loved this documentary but I don’t really mind but I really hope they show an episode with spinosaurus not just because it’s my favorite dinosaur but because I need a doc that shows an accurate spino instead of.....THAT 👉mOnStErS rEsSuRrEcTeD
Is there a doc with accurate spino in it? Idk I haven’t watched any documentaries in a long time
@@GigaDrigga3103 Nope, and there is no such thing as "accurate spinosaurus" because we know very little about it and it keeps changing every time
@@phaex2288 fair fair I meant up to date
Far too much mating like, 50% of the show was about dinosaur sex, like i wanted to see unique animal behaviors
That's how you know it's a WWD successor. That and all the baby murder
I must be broken in the brain becuase overall I found the series a bit lacking in substance . Very few new or interesting dinosaurs, little I haven't seen done in other docs and far too much emphasis on current time animals and plants . Overall a pleasant watch but nothing memorable.
Well, you got that right. You are broken in the brain.
