1:01 I was walking with my wife on that street about 1 month ago. I didn't see this video, but I saw many others and I told her... let's go to see. We are from Quebec and dreaming to move to Vancouver. After Burke Mountain visit we understood that this is the place we want to move to. BUT.... there is a big but.... the houses cost. It's way too high. And it doesn't matter, house or townhouse. OK, so to buy a house we will have to sell kidneys and lungs :D and we get to another issue... schools... Our kids will go to middle school 2023 and that's another issue :( Does that mean the area is for families with no kids? :D
Hi Alexandru! I've been told that the prices (and the processes!) in Quebec and Ontario vs BC when it comes to buying real estate can be quite a shock - so I definitely understand that. Burke Mountain is a newer area so the homes are younger in age and that contributes quite a bit to the prices as well. An exciting announcement for Burke Mountain recently in approved funding for the middle-secondary school but it isn't expected to be ready until 2026. Burke Mountain is actually a very family oriented neighbourhood with tons of kids, but until then, the neighbouring subareas/cities are options for middle-secondary schools.

Unfortunately that is a difficult find right now. In the last 60 days (most recently) there haven't been any sales below the $1M mark. The market for this area has gone up significantly!
