I visited family in Nashville about a month ago. They're members of this church and brought me to a service there...excellent band and great gospel message!
I love the guitar tone of Steve Krenz. It was not buried with excessive distortion but stands out with a crystal clear tone with comes with a killer punch -skills aside.
This is so great on so many levels, no egos, just wanting to enjoy each other, renowned players and some with less recognition, and show casing blues music as a palette with so many colors. Just wished Hadley Hockensmith could have been there!
You have got that one wrong they are full of ego when they do there solos they are competing with each other, you think they would have grown out of that guitar hero stuff , but if its for a good time it does not matter does it
@@tonycostanzo4276 Not so. They are complementing each other. Enjoying each other. My late husband worked often with Phil in the 1980's. They weren't competitive. Fans tried to do a Phil versus my husband thing. Who was the better guitarist. My husband said it was Phil.
Was fortunate to see (although not prepared to what I was about to witness) Keaggy play at Raincross Square in Riverside Ca about 30 something years ago, and he and band played the most blistering hard rock/blues set I've ever heard....wish I had a tape of that....I was a new believer, and it struck me how humble / unselfagrandizing he and his bandmates were. The real hero is the sound man who had to get levels for all of these guitarists and have their channel ready to go when it was their time to solo.

good point

As a former large-church sound man. . . . I couldn't agree more! :-)

The true humility of Phil Keaggy seen in this video but that is how he rolls all of the time. A true class act!
I agree. "A True Believer"
Phill is a complete class act, he easily had the ability to outshine all the guitarists, but chose to stay in the background.
Phil stands out.... humble,Godly man, & kind.
