Matthew Ward's voice is just amazing! I remember learning this song on a roof in Lima, Peru, as our band was putting together our States return tour...I so wanted to sing this song!
Thanks for your comments. I posted these for people like you who can appreciate Matt's talent but may never have seen him perform live. We only ever did all of this material live just this once, although we did do a couple of these songs as a part of the 2nd Chapter Of Acts concerts in the last couple of years they were together. Thanks again for your interest.
I'm having a hard time believing this is live it's EXACTLY like the album and so crisp 😮The guitar tone is pretty different tho which confirms that it's live
my uncle and i was listening to his music today on an old cd and we thought that u tube would have his music and its cool that it posted a cupple day ago!!!! still rock on!!!!!
I went to a hockey game and Matthew did a concert after. He did the absolute best rendition of the star spangled banner I have EVER heard. It was awesome!
I will always Love Matthew Ward! On fire for the Lord for sure! My kids were raised on his music! and my son listens to him even now! PRAISE GOD for this awesome man!
@Llelandj Thank you SO much for posting these videos. I can't get over how PERFECT Matthew sounds live! I was never lucky enough to see him live, but Armed and Dangerous and Fade to White were two of my very favorite records as a kid. His voice always blew me away on record, but... my word... hearing him live... I almost can't believe that he's not lip syncing!!!! Perfect... what a gift to us from GOD!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Oh and you and the rest of the band are fantastic!!!!
Thanks for your comments.... as for whether Matt was ahead of his time or not, all I can say is that having seen Stevie Wonder perform badly live on numerous occasions, and having seen Matthew perform flawlessly hundreds and hundreds of times, I know he's at LEAST ahead of Stevie! (And I love and respect Stevie)
Thank you for your kind remarks, I remember this music very fondly and I'm glad others can appreciate it as well. I got a call today from the keyboard player in these videos and he was one of the big reasons that Matthew and the band sounded as we did. He (Jim Tenneboe) co-wrote the songs you hear, and he created all the keyboard parts, both live and those that are flown in by sequencers etc. Matthew is an absolute freak when it comes to doing things perfectly every time musically. Unreal!
There are always critics. Some first choose to criticize the Christian aspect, then move on from there. I wish I had been able to witness the Christian artists of the past 2 or 3 decades. They were not accepted widely by the church or the world. :( :(
I have been around for so long that I can't remember where I met Curt Bartlett in my wandering around from Iowa, MN, Oklahoma and Alabama and a few months with Servant in 1980. Oh well. It is always fun meeting new people.
First I wanna say, Chizmo, shut up, opinions are JUST opinions, it shows ur maturity to say the things you have said. Second, I am new to Mathew Ward, embarrassingly, and I tell you, I am a vocalist and it takes alot to impress me, but I'm impressed! I will be a life long fan of Mr Ward!!!! This is just goooooood stuff!!!!
Once again: thanks Lee for doing so much...!!! My opinion is, that Matt is not comparable with anyone else. He has learned from others, yes...and from the vacuum cleaner and the washing-machine too... (read his book!), but he has done and he does his own thing in a great professional wise and just a little you can´t compare "2nd Chapter" with another group, because they´ve developed their own style with very difficult harmonies, which sounded overwhelming well...!
chizmo7...I just believe Matt's a better live singer. You have a right to your opinion, but to call me a "Typical sheltered narrow minded Christian" without knowing anything about me is not exactly enlighted. My roots are in progressive Rock, R&B and Jazz. I spent years playing with secular artists in many settings. One of many was Oleta Adams, who I played with for years. She kicks Stevie's butt live too, and I'll bet Stevie would agree! Sorry I offended Stevie fans, but you've offended me.

Today's artists are all about stage presence...Matthew...didnt have it.
..he did not need it.
.his voice was enough...he is amazing.
Agreed. No stage Presence, but that amazingly anointed voice... What else is there to say about it? Simply amazing!
i love matew ward and his 2 sisters they are in the group 2nd chapter o acts there music is angelic
I grew up with this album and I still love listening to his voice. So good!

I seriously don’t know how people are just sitting there while that man stage right is hitting them sweet licks on his guitar after Matthews singing.
Love Brother Matthew. I felt Papa's presence when and his sisters played back in 84. Love him!!
Jim Tenneboe-keyboards
Curt Bartlett-guitar
Michael Celenza-Drums
Lee Jones-bass (me)
I love the album title, armed and dangerous
Love this Christian Synth Rock
I like Christian Music that also emphasizes the music and not just the lyrics, music is of the Lord God above
This album was fantastic! I used to crank this on my cassette player in my truck driving to work. One of my favorite Christian albums.
Praise God!!! I am a bass player as well! Thank you Jesus for songs written, performed, completley honoring Him!!!!!
A real blessing oh, I love the words and he has a wonderful voice
ABSOLUTELY!!!! What a sweet spirit!
Thanks for posting this, I remember this concert at Jesus Midwest, as we use to say OUTSTANDING! His voice is unbelievable and so anointed.

danmorgan77 Who cares because they were always "surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses".
danmorgan77 They are the modern evangelist in this post modern age of great deception. While critics oppress them the Holy Spirit moves on.
this one ROCKS!!...."Teach me Lord....and I will be your man of God."
Thanks Lielandj for the post.
what's not to love ?!?!
glory to YOU in the highest He lifts up your name ;)

👍🙂👍
Please list the band members - they deserve some credit!
Moffatwv they are Michael Celenza drums. Jim Tenneboe keys, Lee Jones bass and Curt Bartlett guitar.
What is it like to be able to sing almost any note you can think of?
Why is there no volume after the first song?
Devil you're in big trouble buddy you haven't seen anything yet..
